Hi - I’m an artist and writer in Brooklyn, NY. After recently coming even more closely head-to-head with harmful anti-trans rhetoric in my academic institution and censorship by faculty, I’m attempting to put together an investigative essay about the efficacy of the student movement, media literacy, and censorship- narrower/specified scope TBD. I’m posting in the hopes of connecting with past generations of exclusively trans individuals connected/previously connected to the academic arts. I’m not interested in your degrees or qualifications- I want to talk to faculty/staff/past students/protesters/neighbors - and am particularly interested in accounts and experiences from the ~80s to ~early 2000s. If you have ANYTHING you feel compelled to share, please reach out.
