I have a great Lake George waterfront hideaway in Adirondack State Park 3 1/2 hours from Westchester, yet 10 minutes from downtown Lake George. It's a spacious three bedroom house located down a private road on a small private lake (I have a rowboat & you may want to bring fishing rods--no guarantees!!) & with a (very) little beach to boot! The screened-in porch overlooking Lake Allure is my personal favorite! There's a gas grill for your use, too. The house, which is clean and completely uncluttered, has a fully equipped kitchen, DVD/CD,stone fireplace, etc.
Historic Lake George (Fort William Henry,etc.) is full of lots to do and many attractions: hiking, biking, boating, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, tubing, rafting, scenic boat rides, parasailing, horseback riding, a championship rodeo, and a town full of fun things for kids.Oh, there's also a drive-in movie and great outlet shopping. Six Flags is 15 minutes away.
