Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities
Design and maintain SQL databases
Design and maintain data workflow to ensure quality and security of data
Liaise with clients to ensure raw data is delivered effectively
Coordinate efforts with other technical staff to validate SQL queries and work with users to ensure efficiency of code
Train analysts to query SQL databases
Design, develop and implement back up and recovery procedures
Monitor and analyze system space usage within the database. Proactively assess and resolve performance issues
Ensure compliance to methodology and quality/process initiatives
Liaise between application developers and outside vendors to report and resolve problems
Monitor error log(s), database and log space, user activity and resource utilization of production environment
Work with users to ensure that application problems do not adversely affect production operations
Job Requirements
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent area
Minimum of three (3) years MS SQL Server 2000/2005 database administration and database development experience
Strong understanding of concepts: OLAP, decision support, data mining, data warehouse and data mart
Hands-on expertise directly performing DBA functions, installing, configuring and supporting SQL Server based database systems
Strong knowledge of Transact-SQL, logging, indexes, views, queries, triggers, transactions and performance tuning
Experience in designing, implementing and administering large complex distributed database environment with high volume and high availability requirements
Solid experience in database applications development life cycle, including code design, data modeling, testing, and documentation
Experience with software and hardware troubleshooting with the proven ability to solve complex technical problems
Familiarity with SPSS a plus

On-Site PC Network Problem Resolution
Provides on-site information technology support to administrators and staff who are experiencing a wide variety of needs ranging from software installation and configuration to complex problem resolution.
Maintain PC network Connectivity and Security Access
Responds to connection issues for the local and remotely attached personal computers of the management, staff, customers and vendors that are allowed to access our network. Provides security access for new users and removes old users when advised by management.
Infrastructure Planning and Maintenance
Maintains a network infrastructure in such a way to provide consistently high availability of the network to the users of the network. Maintains backup schedules, purges, network maps, hardware inventories, software inventories ( licenses ) and maintenance agreements.
Telephone system
Sets up and trains new users of the telephone system. Calls in service for extension changes, down phone lines, and any other telephone issue.
The Candidate: Must have ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, and be able to make decisions independently. Further, the incumbent must be courteous, display a positive attitude and a genuine concern for the computer user, focus on attention to detail, work well as part of a team. College degree in computer science or 5 years work experience equivalent.
