Production Floor Leads

Working hours: 5:30pm-1:30am
Full time 40+ hours a week

SUMMARY
Responsible for working with the Production Floor Manager and Production Floor Coordinator to coordinate the daily / hourly activities of a specific manufacturing area (e.g. shipping, book jackets, etc¿). Focused on ensuring the specific manufacturing area:
(1) Meets key production goals of Delivery (units shipped per day), Quality (defects per units shipped), and Cost (units per labor hour).
(2) Complies with associated Safety objectives
(3) Complies with 5S and Lean Manufacturing initiatives
Works at various stations within the manufacturing area ~80% to ~100% of the time, but also acts as the point-of-contact for the specific manufacturing area. Acts as a back-up for the Production Floor Manager during absences and / or weekend or night shifts.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Immediately brings any problems or issues that may prevent meeting the daily production goals to the attention of the Production Floor Manager or Production Floor Coordinator. Reports any short-term / long-term staffing and / or equipment issues.
2. Is the lead person for all Randstad personnel in regards to behavior, attitude, performance and attendance. Ensures compliance of Randstad talent with both My Publisher¿s and Randstad¿s company policies, guidelines and procedures.

3. Assists in the management of day-to-day / hourly activities in the assembly area in accordance to prescribed company policies, including workplace safety, time and attendance, and overtime. Rotates employees within a manufacturing area to prevent fatigue and improve quality.

4. Drives Operations toward World-Class performance by assisting in the implementing of continuous improvement programs to reduce cycle time, reduce manufacturing space, reduce cost, and improve flexibility.

5. Coordinates training of employees on the equipment and procedures of the manufacturing area.

6. Participates in various manufacturing teams (e.g. quality, Lean Manufacturing, etc¿) as required.

7. Completes various tasks as assigned by the Production Floor Manager or Production Floor Coordinator.

8. Works at specific stations within the manufacturing area ~80% to 100% of the time.
