1979 Yamaha SR500 Rare, Low Miles (New Paltz) $1400

This is a 1979 Yamaha SR 500. It has only 10k miles and runs good- very smooth and easy to ride. Lots of work/ upgrades: I installed a second brake caliper/ rotor on the front (from an XS650), rebuilt the stock front/ rear calipers, stainless steel rear brake line, oil change, sealed battery, Daytona bars, GT grips, mini mirror, bullet signals, K+N air filter. It has good tires, seat, tank/ paint. It is kick-start only with a compression release and a TDC window. The bike could use a good polishing- I haven't gotten to that yet. These single cylinder street bikes are fairly rare in the states and have a strong cult following. They're light ninble bikes with tons of torque (the manual has a guy wheelie-ing one). They're popular with custom builders (especially in Japan with shops like Bratstyle) as cafe racer, tracker, bobber, chopper projects. The SR400 is still available pretty much everywhere but the US, and is probably the most popular bike in Japan.

I have a clean title for the bike and I'm asking $1400 OBO. It's located in New Paltz, but delivery might be possible within a reasonable distance for a small fee. Thanks.

PRICE REDUCED. 1977 Vespa Rally 200. In perfect working order. Freshly rebuilt engine to stock spec (rebuilt by previous owner...an enthusiast and serious scooter collector) has new piston, head, seals, tires (incl. spare), cables, tail light and fuel tap. I've replaced the air intake bellows, center stand boots, grips, kick-start rubber with original pieces and also added a mirror. Body is in very solid shape. Everything is present and accounted for. There is some very minor surface rust that could be scraped and sprayed if so desired but nothing that worried me and I'm pretty uptight about that stuff.

Sadly, she must go. It's been stored inside for the one year I've owned it. I've ridden it a half-dozen times in my neighborhood and have started it several times throughout the year to keep her limber but never got my motorcycle license so it hasn't even seen the open road (pitiful, really for a 200). You would actually still be breaking in the new engine. (I have mileage recorded to know when it's cool to really open it up.)

It maintains the original 6V electrical, all in good working order. Has the upgraded Ducati CDI. The auto-oiler has been bypassed in favor of good old fashioned pre-mix (though the reservoir remains and is a good place to keep extra oil in a pinch).

I'm also including a Prima cover (new in box) and a Prima roll bag (New, never used, just mounted on the back of the scoot)

It's quick. It's comfortable. It's a blast to ride.

I got this machine a few months ago on a trade and put a bunch of money into it�
I pulled the carb and gave it a good cleaning, fresh gas and a quick shot of eather and the bike fired right up.
All the tires hold air... It seems to have a carb issue� I replace the float and float needle but I can�t get it to run right� It fires right up and seems like it is getting too much fuel. If you turn the fuel valve off it will bog until the fuel level is right and then it will run until the carb runs out of fuel. I�m tired of tinkering with it and want it out of my garage�

Interested in a gas powered remote controller car or truck.

The frame is a semi-perimeter steel structure having oval and box tubes and a steering angle between 26� and 28�. The advantages of this new frame are that it permits a very advanced riding position with ergonomics designed to make riders of varying statures better fit into the ideal riding position, both while sitting and standing on the footpegs. Steering "stoppers" are new and positioned on the frame. Footrests have been moved forward by 15 mm. The aluminium engine guards and frame guards have also been redesigned to be more compact and light. The tank has been modified and is mounted both on Motocross and Enduro models. The rear suspension is completely new, with a brand new link, new swingarm and a new offset Sachs shock absorber, revised for new progression. It has all 4 Brand new Artrax tires on it 21x7x10 in the front and 20x10x9 in the rear.
