Neighborhood (145th/Amsterdam area) is mostly families, with lots of young professionals. Noisy at times. Walks to and from subway are safe and the area is regularly patrolled by NYPD. Lots of mini-marts/bodegas for quick grocery needs; C-Town grocery for larger shopping trips; ethnic restaurants w/delivery, etc. Close to CCUNY campus and several local churches.

More about me: 26yo gay male opera singer (baritone) gigging part-time with day-job at Lincoln Center. Very professional and career/goal-oriented when it comes to music and singing. I own an electric piano with volume control; must be okay with practicing in apartment. I work full-time, 9-5pm and am home most evenings and weekends. Apartment will be completely furnished by end of this year; there is no need to bring any furniture other than what will go in your room.

Bedroom is compact (+/- 65 sq. ft.), but will fit twin sized bed, tall chest of drawers and bed-side table. Ideal for student or other individual transitioning to life in NYC. Adequate closet space for one person with overhead storage in bedroom. Additional (shared) closet space in living/common area. Kitchen is fully equipped with ample cabinet space.

I am an extremely clean person and require daily upkeep of all common living areas. This includes:

- No dirty dishes left in kitchen sink all day/night
- Counters, stove, fridge surfaces must be cleaned if/when dirtied
- Food should be stored/put away neatly
- Weekly (alternating) cleaning of bathroom (toilet, sink, floors, etc.)
- Shower/tub cleaned +/- once a month
- Living areas kept neat and clean at all times
- Your bedroom (and mine) are, of course, our own business; however, pests/vermin will not be tolerated.

Guests are welcome, but, please, no live-in significant others or crazy parties. I am up at 7-7:30am each day during the week and need mutual "quiet" hours by 11pm or midnight at the latest. I'm no stranger to the all-nighter, but almost never during the week.

Unfortunately, dogs/pets are not allowed. I hope that doesn't break the deal for you.

On the 2nd floor, there are actually 4 bedrooms, but the fourth is normally empty and used as a guest room. The living room has a view of the city (whoo!), and in the summertime, there's a spacious private rooftop available through our kitchen window. You would have 2 guy roommates who are both really nice/clean. They both work in real estate as their 'full time' and are in their separate creative endeavors (i.e. comedy, and film). Everything is quite laid back, and everyone is usually doing their own thing, and you might not see them all the time.

I've been riding my bike to get around, and can be at the bedford stop within 10 mins. Walking time is closer to 20~25 mins. Safe polish neighborhood that hasn't quite gentrified/hipsterfied as quickly as the other side of Greenpoint which is actually preferable to me. Tons of restaurants, and would recommend the Kyoto Japanese restaurant for sushi and free sake. McGorick Park is a very nice green spot that you'll see everyday on the way home. A popular local dive bar is nearby called The Palace Bar where they only play metal! (rock on with $10 pitchers of beer, rt?) If you liked brunch, that Heath Leger, 5 Leaves restaurant is in walking distance as well as enid's. matchless.

Anyways, this is a good value spot. It's def. a fun location and a decent place to live. Check it out...!

We�re directly across the street from Blue Marble, which has coffee and some of the best ice cream in the city.

Prospect Park is right down the street�it�s a beautiful spot for running, cycling, sports and relaxation. There are great bars and restaurants one street over on Vanderbilt Avenue, and you�re also a pleasant walk or bike ride away from everything Park Slope has to offer.

You�ll be five minutes from the 2/3 subway stop at Grand Army Plaza. You�re also less than ten minutes to great express trains into Manhattan�the B/Q stop at Flatbush and 7th Ave.

I'm looking for someone who is responsible and will always pay rent on the 1st of every month without question.

Utilities are split 3 ways, so you're probably looking at somewhere between $40 - $75 / month.

You would NOT need to sign a lease. This is a month-to-month agreement.

The only pictures I have (below) are of the room and the apartment empty, because I took them before I furnished the place.

The building is great! It's all young creative people. The neighborhood is great! 24-hour delis, 24-hour natural foods grocery store, 24-hour laundry, the J train is 10 seconds away, there are lots of great restaurants, and several cool bars and clubs.

It's about 8 minutes to Manhattan by the J express train (just two stops to Essex on the Lower East Side!)
