• The what: Grapefruit tree, about 52 inches high (that's 4 feet, 3 inches, and as a result, I'm not sure if this would fit in the back seat of a sedan -- I think this job is probably better suited for someone with a mini-van, van, truck, or SUV). The pot it is in is roughly 14 inches wide. You would have to get the tree down to Florida unharmed and still in excellent health.


• The when: Sometime between after Thanksgiving and the end of December. We would probably have to arrange things far enough in advance so that I can get plane tickets and meet you down there.


• The where: Ideally, on the day that you're heading out of town, I would give you the tree on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, and the first $30 of the $60. I think it would also make sense to take some collateral from you at that point as well. Then, a few days later, I would meet you at Fort Lauderdale International Airport (FLL). I would take the tree back from you, give you the rest of the $60, and you would go on your merry way.


• The why: I've grown this tree from a seed and would like to see it quite literally bear fruit someday. You are someone who is reasonably responsible and doesn't mind bringing this thing along with you, especially if it means the trip ends up being lighter in your wallet as well.


• The how long: I guess it doesn't really matter how long it takes for you to get between NYC and FLL, as long as the tree stays alive and gets sunlight and water and stays upright in your vehicle, and you also meet me at the pre-arranged times and locations.


• The how much: $60. $30 up front, and another $30 when you get there.

I am willing to negotiate on the particulars of this request.

Why am I selling the ticket for half ? Because if I won't, I am losing all the money - the ticket is running out at the end of December.

is that many tourists call to ask me "do I need an I.D. for the ticket" and the answer is "NO".
