Looking for a Nonfiction Book Editor (Anywhere, USA)

compensation: Negotiable
I finished a nonfiction book, which is composed of a collection of humorist essays. The book is relatively short, racking in at about 42,000 words. I consider myself a decent writer, but the stories within the book are far stronger than my current experience.

I am not looking for someone to only provide grammatical and punctual error checks, but an editor that can find holes in the story, add stronger humor and depth to the book, and commit to an overall comprehensive edit (structuring.)

This book isn't for the easily offended, and has content that may offend certain demographics. (There aren't any blatant racist or prejudice remarks.) It would fall under the satire genre, or its sick and less formal cousin, Fratire genre.

Just so that we don't waste anyone's time: If you are a editor that has a resume filled with textbook editorials, science magazines, thesis papers--this edit is not for you. If you are a editor that uses dated humor, is out of touch with the comedy scene, or you are just a standup comedian who thinks he could edit a book because he is funny with NO PRIOR experience--this edit is not for you.

Level of education is important and so is experience within these genres editing similar works.

Compensation will be on an experience basis, and how much I fall in love with your sample EDIT that I will provide to you. This will also be a growing relationship, because I plan on working on other books from other authors that will will discuss over the phone. (I started a publishing company.)

The edit must consist of ONE MAJOR edit and ONE MINOR EDIT (to go over your initial edit.) We will discuss how to organize this to reduce time constraints and make it work more efficiently. The goal is to make this a rewarding experience for the both of us with a minimal amount of back and forth, and getting it right the first time. YOUR FEEDBACK WILL BE ESSENTIAL.

How we tackle the edit will be up to you, as long as it is done within 45 days, and I am courteous of your time and other projects you may be working on. (I understand this isn't a salary and you have to put food on the table for you family, so demanding this will be not.)

If this is striking any cords, please reply with your RESUME and why this is a perfect job for you in the text body.

RESUMES WILL BE VERIFIED! So don't say you graduated from Columbia U but I can't find your transcript!
