Competitrack is seeking an accomplished Web Development Manager for a challenging and rewarding full-time opportunity.

For over 20 years many of the top agencies and advertisers in the world have used Competitrack's custom ad monitoring services. We monitor advertising activity throughout the U.S. and in over 60 countries around the world. Our online archive contains millions of ads and over seven years of data.
Our Web Development Manager position leads a small development team responsible for managing and developing within our B2B website and its large databases, in addition to his/her hands-on development responsibilities. The successful candidate will be working closely with the business side of the company to collect business requirements, assess project scope, and develop and enhance the client facing website used to deliver our market research data and other services to our clients.
Our website is built with a hybrid of technologies. The website uses OpenText Basis and Oracle database technologies. It is written mostly in Java, but uses BWCGI templates and perl/shell/c/cgi. The candidate must be willing and able to work with both legacy technologies such as c/perl/cgi/shell scripts, and newer technologies such as J2EE and Ajax. The candidate must demonstrate successful experience as a developer and manager, and the ability to handle both the backend and the frontend of the website. Candidate should be comfortable working in a small team environment as a manager/mentor, and working independently on technical issues.
He/she must be adept at quickly learning new technical environment, learning new business, integrating new technologies into existing environment, communicate clearly and comfortable in an environment with changing business priorities.
Technical Qualifications:
Java, J2EE, JDBC, XML, Web Service, SOAP (3+ years of professional development experience is a must).
UNIX (AIX familiarity a plus) (2+ years professional experience is a must).
C/C++ and Perl (3+ years of professional development experience highly preferred).
Front-end development, including JavaScript, HTML, CSS (3+ years experience highly preferred).
Apache Web Server in a UNIX environment (3+ years, other Web Servers are OK, Apache a plus).
Experience with at least one J2EE compatible servlet container, tomcat 5.x and up is a must.
Development experience with database programming (Oracle/SQL and/or OpenText/Basis preferred, OpenText Livelink ECM Collections Server OK too).
