TECHNICIAN: WIRELESS RADIO APPRENTICE / 2 WAY RADIO
Entry level apprentice program for college graduates with an Electronics / Technological Degree.
Learn how to diagnose, repair, and program two-way portable radios, mobiles, repeaters, and more in this expanding private and government entities. Homeland Security, property management, and commercial enterprises are typical areas of service.
Motorola, Vertex-Standard, Kenwood, GE, Maxon and ICOM, are just a few of the manufacturers we represent. Our Critical Communications Industry is constantly introducing new products while complying with all the constantly changing FCC regulations regarding the NEW Digital conversion from analog.
You will be exposed to new repeater system design, installs, and building linking technology. Digital, V.O.I.P., and Interoperability systems are on the cutting edge of this new age. You will be learning from qualified licensed FCC and CET certified technicians, with hands on training, in the field and in our state of the art Service Center.
Learn to operate service monitors, watt meters, volt meters, plus solder and de-soldering stations.
Start part time with full time possibilities available. Work in the New York City area.
Candidate must have professional-looking appearance and excellent communication skills.
Being prepared and punctual is required on a daily basis without exception; if proven & consistently demonstrated, management opportunities and advancement during our expansion will be offered.
Requirements
• Two-year college electronics/technological or military equivalent is required
• Aptitude for troubleshooting down to component level
• A steady hand and good eyesight is needed for de-soldering and soldering very small surface mount components
• Two-way radio repair experience is desired, but not necessary
Applicants should be honest, hardworking, motivated individuals who enjoy bench work and will have the opportunity to advance into onsite system installation and repair. Must have a valid driver’s license and car. A complete set of your own bench and field tools is required after 90 days of training.
