I'm sorry to leave the apartment, but I want to fill it with someone who can appreciate having two big living rooms, a separate eat-in kitchen with counter space, a full bathroom, and two good roommates, in the HEART of Astoria, surrounded by all of the food you could want (Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Indian, Thai, Mexican, etc), supermarkets, gyms, parks, and three minutes from the N/W - a 15 minute ride into Manhattan.
There's this bedroom and another one, the really big master one (for only $850) opening this month (move in with a friend!). If you move quick, it's available after the 22nd even.
The landlord, who only owns this one apartment, is super sweet and very easy to deal with. She leaves you along and there's no problems ever. She'd need the standard first/last month's rent plus one month security. For no brokers fee, this is a hot deal.

What's to say? This room is huge. Bigger than 11x13; big closet - (comes with nice desk).
It's on the back side of the apartment, so it's very quiet. It's right next to the bathroom.
There's a hallway, big eat in kitchen with lots of counter space, TWO living rooms, and a smaller bedroom (that also needs to be filled - only $650).
This is the only property the landlord owns and she's very sweet and nice, lives far away, and there's never any problems.
To move in you'd need first and last month's rent, plus one month's security (standard). But there's no broker fee, the rent hasn't gone up for years, and everything's flexible.
So, I'm leaving one roommate behind, who is a very nice cooperative guy that keeps to himself and gets along easily with everyone. He's got that middle room.
But if you're looking for one room (or two rooms - move in with a buddy!) only 15 minutes away from Manhattan (on the N/W line), paying next to nothing for more space than you know what to do with, on the second floor above a laundromat and surrounded by food (pizza, mexican, chinese, japanese, indian, thai, italian), gyms, supermarkets, deli, etc, then you've found your match. The area is amazing (10 min walk to Astoria Park / Beer Garden), movie theater nearby, tons of great bars, etc. and I'm sad to leave it.
We need to find the right person (with a job and all that) and soon! You can basically move in any time in the second half of the month, and the lease would start Dec. 1st. Don't pass this up - come check it out.]]>

The apartment is and equidistant 5-10 minute walk between the NR at 30th Ave and the RVG at Steinway. It's about a 15-20 minute ride to mid-town manhattan. All utilities are included. there is an extra 54 a month for cable/internet and 20 for a once a month cleaning lady to keep things neat.

I am looking for a roommate to share my apt with for December 1st. I am a 26 year old gay male, work full time as a teacher, musician on the side, going back to do my masters soon. I am renting out a room in my gigantic apartment. We are located on the entire ground floor of a 2 family home. The living room is gigantic and already fully furnished. The kitchen is gigantic as well. Not your typical NYC kitchen, its the second largest room in the house. Plenty of cabinet and counter space. There is a small shared bathroom, but you get your own private vanity in it. Extra double sized closet in hallway outside bedrooms for extra storage. Bedroom is about 10x12, has one window looking out into backyard with lots of sunlight, and deep closet with extra shelving. Room also has a ceiling fan. There is also another small room which I am converting into an office/music practice room. We are located in between several queens/manhattan/brooklyn bound subway lines. Also close to banks, gyms, laundry, shopping, stores, restaurants, bars/clubs, hookah bars, the works . . .
I am looking for another professional or someone who can easily afford rent and utilities, who is clean and quiet, and drama free.
To move in requires first month and security so 1800 altogether. Rent includes heat and water, we just pay for cable/internet and electric.
