I often receive question about this beauty, even though it��s a Schneider lens people are worried concerning its performance compare to the Kern Yvar 100mm�� First of all people don��t know that there is quite a big difference between Kern Yvar and Kern Switar. Switar is Zeiss quality, fast, heavy and great lens. Yvar is not, it��s cheaply made, light and slower by one to two stops compare to the Switar. Now back to the Schneider, here is a comparing ��chart�� so that you can see for yourself that the Schneider is definitely a notch higher then the beloved Kern Yvar 100mm
As you can see the Schneider has a much larger range and let��s talk about how smooth the rings are on the Schneider�� You can just change the aperture and m with the tip of your finger when the Kern requires you to grab it

In 1969, when Neil Armstrong set foot on the Moon, there was a great demand for easy-to-use cameras on Earth that may have been set off some years earlier by Kodak's 126 film cartridge system. The Minolta Autopak 800 was a rangefinder camera for this format. It had a built-in mechanical clockwork motor for automatic film advance that could be wound up - with the knob on the user's right side - for making a series of 12 exposures. Like many other cameras for the format, it had a connector for flashcubes that turned 90 degrees after each exposure to get the next of four bulbs into firing position. Unusually for a 126 camera, the body has both cable release socket and tripod bush.

I am selling these two units together. One is in absolutely excellent shape, and the other doesn't really work properly and can be used for spare parts.

The one that is in Excellent condition is very clean. I took photos of the battery box and the battery holder just to show that there have never been any rotting batteries left in there.

This lens is designed by Canon for the exclusive use with their C-size sensor cameras - the various Rebel models, as well as the 10D, 20D, 30D, 40D and 50D cameras. It is compact, lightweight, and covers the standard zoom range of approximately 28mm-90 mm (in 35mm format) with smooth operation and superb resolution.
The lens is an autofocus lens with the following specifications: 18mm at the wide angle setting (35mm camera equivalent to 28.8 mm) and 55mm telephoto( 35mm equivalent of 88 mm). The maximum aperture varies from f3.5 at the widest angle setting, to f5.6 at the long end.
The lens fits 58mm screw on filters. It contains 11 elements in 9 groups for extremely sharp photographs, yet it weighs only 6.7 oz, making for a flexible lens and a very lightweight walking around arrangement with any of the camera bodies it fits.
I recently purchased a new camera body with a longer range lens and no longer need this lens. The lens is in very good condition with no mechanical or optical flaws. This lens will serve you very well.
