ANTONIA is a 2 yo female Rotie mix brought to the shelter as a stray. She is a gorgeous but shy beauty. She is clearly stressed to be at the shelter. Antonia is good on the leash and seems to be housetrained. She met many dogs in the backyard, small and big, calm and barking and she did not display any aggression or fear. She really wanted to play with a little Lhasa Apso.

ANTONIA is quite submissive. She clearly looks for protection and leans very close to her caretaker, nudging her body. The various volunteers who handled her and the walkers are quite fond of her. The owner did not give us any further information about the pair, but it seems like they came from a loving home, because both dogs are supremely socialized and love all people and dogs alike Blanket is the tender heart of the two, while Poster is the belle of the ball. Unfortunately the couple was split up and Poster was adopted and Blanket was left behind, but he was quickly placed in a wonderful foster home and now needs a forever couch to hang out on!!He's quiet and mellow, but so snuggly and affectionate . Not only is she very pretty & delicate (her photos do not do her justice), but she is a very good and affectionate dog.

She is also very petite at only 41 lbs and the shelter estimates she is about 4/5 yrs old. She was extremely shy and even fearful when she arrived at the shelter but as I took her out on a daily basis, she came out of her shell and is just an absolute love, very gentle, calm and fine around other dogs. SANDY is a sweet and sexy petite (45 lb) 2 yr rednose red/wht Pit X who found herself dumped at the city pound after her owners decided that she was no longer useful as a "puppy machine". Some people call them "throwaway moms"... used for breeding and then tossed after they turn 2yrs old deemed "useless". So cruel were her owners - not only did they keep her in a cage for most of the time she was pregnant.... but they took away her precious impressionable youth...she was rarely socialized with other dogs during her first 2 years because she was kept pregnant. She only knew the dogs she was mated with and since she was forced to become a mother so young ... she instinctively became guarded and protective of her puppies and therefore is very defensive with other dogs. As a result Sandy is not good with most dogs.. she does seem to get along with submissive males... but ideally she would be best as an only dog in a suburban or country environment

However, Sandy is WONDERFUL WITH ALL HUMANS... She's a bit exhuberant and very excitable as all pits are but she is oh so LOVING and FULL OF KISSES for everyone that she meets. Sandy is still a puppy at 2 yrs old and she is very excitable and exhuberant as most pits are... She will need adequate exercise, discipline and obedience training and a STRONG HUMAN PACK LEADER -preferably someone with previous BULLY BREED EXPERIENCE. With the right conditioning and a structured exercise & discipline regime, SANDY can shape up to be a WONDERFUL LOYAL LOVING DOG !!! Unfortunately we don't think she should go to a home with small children only older kids 12 yrs+ and unfortunately NO CATS. She.... PLS Give her the SECOND CHANCE she DESERVES!!

She is medium sized at 48 lbs but she has a short stature and is not hard to handle. She loves to play with her toys and can keep herself entertained for hours with a tennis ball but she's a bit stubborn and will need training to work on giving up the toys when told. She is just a puppy and still has lots of energy so she will need daily structured exercise i.e a good daily game of fetch each day!!

She passed her temperament test with flying colors and seems to be good with other dogs... we think she should probably go with a male dog and she seems to be fine with cats that leave her alone. We don't think she should go with small children because she likes toys so much... but older kids i.e teens should be fine. She is housebroken.

Jamie is an awesome boy. He loves to be held like a baby and get belly rubs. He is incredibly vocal and playful as ever!
He takes a while to warm up. He has been moved around alot from home to home and now id like to find him a FOREVER home
with a family who will be patient with him while he gets used to you. I assure you the love jamie gives is worth the wait.
He had an eye infection as a baby (because he was in a dirty animal shelter!) so his third eyelids are prominent but they pose no health threat

I had bought her for 499, and her cage was 599. Not to mention the rope perches and such. I want to make sure that whoever gets her isn't just getting her for the cage, to ditch her and put their bigger bird in... so I'm asking $400 for it all.

Please, if you msg me, give me something to believe that you've had birds before- she loves people, and she needs more time out of her cage than I've been able to give her recently. A lot has been going on that's personal, and I haven't been able to pay her the attention she deserves. When she's taken out of her cage during the day, she's very quiet, even now- having been in the cage a while, she's pretty good. She'll squawk in the morning, I'm not going to lie- and she squawks when anyone sweeps around her cage for some reason- I think someone might have hit her cage with a broom where she was- sometimes she just squawks, other times she seems to get scared-

But, when she's being really loud, I just cluck to her- and she starts clucking back... I always cluck in a certain way before I pet her, and I won't pet her when she's being loud- so... it's a fairly good off switch for her making noise.

Also- she does say a couple of things, just not to me! She was in love with a friend's boyfriend. She would say "Hello!" and "Hi!" to him, in my voice, and "I love you", in my voice...

I never got her sexed, a friend when I first got her said she acts like a she, and it stuck- but she's never laid any eggs, so I think she's a he, but I'm just used to calling her a she!




The cage is huge, and it is her cage, I wouldn't want her in something smaller- so please, have the space for it.

And again, in your email, tell me things that will make me feel comfortable that you know what you're doing. I won't just give her to just anyone who offers me cash, even if more is offered. From what you wrote, it appeared that you were there as a witness to the incident. But other things you say suggest that you inferred what happened - "it sounds to me as if this person was robbed of her cats in broad daylight in Union Square Park!" Perhaps I misunderstand. No dates/times were reported in your post.

There were no other CL posts that I recall about this incident on CL.

Also, what the hell is wrong with people? Some white trash woman on Hett Avenue in New Dorp who fed around 30 cats, plus had many living inside her home, recently moved and left behind all the cats including her indoor ones. One is a baby kitten running around homeless. Luckily a neighbor is feeding them, but she had 4 cats and can't take in anymore. The new owner, a builder who plans on knocking down all the homes on the property she sold, hates animals and doesn't care if they all die, from what I am told. Is there anyone who can help and take in a cat? I know there is one beautiful tabby, a male, who is older and just sits on the porch all day and night. The little baby is so playful, and followed me, but didn't know me and wouldn't come to me. Can someone please open their hearts and homes to just one cat? I have three that were outside cats, I am only allowed two, so I can't risk taking in another one or I would have many more.

Ms. Kess to date has appealed her first sentence and now is sentenced to 1400 hours community service for her dead animals.
How did these animals die? She took sick cats home that were never seen again from the Petco Store on 17th and Broadway.
Her failure to make any attempt to do her community service is a matter of public record.
She is a scoff law and convicted of animal negligence but continues to adopt out cats to this day in Brooklyn. Maybe she thinks the NJ courts don't know where Brooklyn is.

I will most definitely forward the info provided by the poster/witness to the Mayor's Alliance. "Witnesses" need to provide specifics and be willing to be contacted by the MA. Alternatively, "witness(es)" may contact the Mayor's Alliance directly - I've forwarded the post describing what allegedly occurrd to the MA and asked them to contact me when the "witness(es) contact them and file a complaint..

Given the severity and nature of these allegations, I would expect that the "witness(es)"t-- in particular, the person who published this post saying they witnessed this recent altercation -- will contact either me or the Mayor's Alliance in the next day or so. If the poster thought this altercation was serious enough to report on CL, I see no reason why they would not report it to the Mayor's Alliance so they can investigate the complaint.

I will followup with a post to the CL community on the status of this in the next few days.
