Nielsen IAG is looking for talented writers who have exceptional knowledge of the English language (grammar, spelling, idioms, slang, etc.) as it is used in the United Kingdom.
Do you find yourself enjoying the TV commercials more than the show itself? Are you a creative thinker who can easily dream up several appropriate, alternate endings to a story? Can you quickly learn a proprietary writing style and implement it in your work? If yes, this might be the job for you.
Writers view ads and write online surveys that measure overall viewer recall of them. Nielsen IAG's editorial style is complex and evolving, thus writers must learn the specifics very quickly while also adapting to style changes with short notice. Also, writers work with editors to finalize copy, and so must be comfortable receiving and reacting to constructive criticism well in a busy atmosphere.
This is a part-time position with demanding deadlines. All work is done in Nielsen IAG's Manhattan offices, so no telecommuting is possible.
Compensation is a non-negotiable $16/hr.
Successful candidates will have exceptional knowledge of the English language (grammar, spelling, idioms, slang, etc.) as it is used in the United Kingdom. Also, all writing is done within a database so it is essential to be totally comfortable working with a computer in a paperless environment. Some experience producing copy for U.K.-based publications/Web sites is preferred.
