The New York office of Rowman & Littlefield Publishers, Inc., an independent publisher of college texts and scholarly books in the humanities and social sciences, seeks an intern to assist our acquisitions editors and their assistants.
Located in the heart of Union Square, our New York office is the acquisitions “hub” of the company and alone represents Political Science, American History, Communication, Philosophy, Religion, Education, Anthropology, and Sociology. As an intern, you will assist in all aspects of manuscript evaluation and preparation: e.g., sending manuscripts out for review, updating permissions data, formatting manuscripts to send to production, soliciting endorsements from scholars and professors, ordering comp copies for authors and their colleagues, proofreading book cover copy, conducting cover art research, entering book information into our databases, etc. This is an excellent opportunity for anyone hoping to strengthen his or her resume with valuable publishing experience, as well as anyone intent on pursuing a career in the academic disciplines in which we publish.
