Are you interested in publishing? METROPOLIS Magazine, an award-winning national architecture and design publication, is seeking interns for Fall 2009-Winter 2010 to start immediately. For 28 years, award-winning METROPOLIS Magazine has covered architecture, interiors, product and graphic design, urban planning and preservation.
Our ideal intern has the following:
•Good research skills
•Resourcefulness and strong initiative
•A strong interest in and/or knowledge of design
•The ability to be a team player
•Good organizational skills
•Intermediate computer skills
Interns work closely with all levels of staff and all departments at Metropolis. There is an opportunity for editorial contribution (writing short articles, captions, table of contents copy) and to attend all Metropolis Magazine sponsored events, lectures and tradeshows.
The intern duties include but are not limited to:
Conducting story research and fact-checking
Assisting with Web research and the construction of our site
Performing some administrative duties, occasional front desk and reception (inputting a story on the computer, faxing, photocopying, mailing, etc.)
Transcribing interviews and lectures
Updating and organizing office files and library
Archiving materials
This is an unpaid internship. We are looking for a commitment to work at least 16 hours per week.
