Internship Description
Joonbug.com is seeking a non-paid intern interested in supporting our Editorial Department. It is a major opportunity for exposure and to expand your portfolio through writing and meetings with industry talent. Internship positions available in the following subjects:
Music Journalism Responsibilities and topics covered include:
• Profiles on the hottest local bands/artists.
• Interview of the top 5 DJs in the city.
• Interview owners of the best live music venues.
• Interview music trendsetters on the movement/happenings/trends in music locally.
• Find 3 local music venues and find out big acts will be performing once a month.
• Review of top music venues locally.
• Artist Interviews.
• Coverage of music events.
Fashion Journalism Responsibilities and topics covered include:
• Boutique reviews.
• Fashion calendar of sales and events in your area.
• Coverage of fashion shows, trade shows etc.
• Street Style blogging in your neighborhood.
• Reviews on the top 3 spas in the city.
Fashion Reporting to our Street Style blog Department Responsibilities include:
• Scouting the streets for style conscious individuals interested in being featured on the site.
• Photographing such individuals and/or other findings along the way.
• Conducting a brief question and answer with individual to get a better understanding of the people around us.
• Listing of brands the individual is wearing in photograph.
• Investigating current and up-in-coming trends.
Culinary Journalism Responsibilities and topics covered include:
• Restaurant/Wine Bar reviews.
• Restaurant openings/closings/revamps/owner and management change.
• Review of Cheap Eats in your area.
• Articles on Neighborhood Favorites.
• Coverage of Food/Wine festivals.
• Recession deals and happenings.
• Interviews with owners/management/cooks.
• Featured recipes.
Nightlife Journalism Responsibilities and topics covered include:
• Interviews with doormen.
• Interviews with promoters.
• Interviews with owners/management.
• What venues are opening?
• What ones are closing?
• Where Are They Now interviews.
• Nightlife related events in your area. *charities, celebratory functions etc.
