Want to get your hands on a developing new web series?? Then have we got the opportunity for you!! how to make it to 30. is in immediate need of two writers to put together the rest of its first season (and beyond, hopefully!). The first two episodes are about wrapped up, so you have a base from which to work. The show is about a group of friends trying desperately to just make it to thirty in New York City. The male lead characters are gay and the female leads are their best friends. The show is not about stereotypes, but more a real look at the relationships these people create and explore and how our generation deals with them. Think an updated version of "Friends" meeting "Sex and the City" with some of the dramatic element as presented by "Ally McBeal."
A great energy, the desire to see a show succeed, and creative ability is all that is required of you. The cast and crew are super-easy to work with and we need solid writers to further the development of the series. While there is no pay, you will be fed (yum!), have your creative voice heard at all times, expand your networking opportunities, and beef up your résumé and experience. Please be available a minimum of two days a week, about two hours each day, for production meeting and first read-through with cast.
This show has been promoted very heavily the past two weeks and will continue to be promoted until the official premiere in December. We have fantastic, committed sponsors to the show and a great bar that has been instrumental in not only lending us a space in which to shoot, but is also incorporating elements of our show into their weekly entertainment (i.e. an in-house "reality competition" in which actors will audition in front of the guests and the winner being featured in future episodes). This is an exciting project that we are prepared to take to the next level.
If interested, please send an e-mail to howtomakeitto30@gmail.com with a brief résumé and cover letter (again, brief, just so we get a sense of who you are!) and a link to some of your published work or copies of past scripts on which you have worked. We will then send you a link to the rough cuts of the first two episodes so you can get a sense of where we are going.
All inquiries should be received by 10:00pm this Saturday, 08 November. We will reply to everyone by Monday, 09 November at the latest!
