The Junior Business Analyst/Trainer, TFAnet on Teach for America's marketing team will help develop and realize the vision for TFANet: as an engaging, password-protected online resource hub for corps members, alumni and staff; and as a collaborative, interactive, community-based destination for knowledge exchange and professional development for our corps member and alumni audiences.

Business Analysis Responsibilities: 60% - 70%

Gather, define and document key business requirements and needs for site optimization projects. Explore possible solutions to identified business needs.
Gather, define and document key user requirements for site optimization projects. Techniques can include: interviews, document analysis, surveys, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis, best practices, analysis of existing business rules, and conducting competitive analyses.
Support development and documentation of stated goals, objectives, and needs of internal business partners: why a project is initiated, what will be achieved, and the specific metrics used to measure its success.
Research market needs and develop needs analysis reports based on particular stakeholder or audience groups.
Collaborate with managers, tech development staff, and internal business partners to ensure specifications and designs are within project scope and can be implemented using existing technologies.
Help internal business partners understand how TFANet may or may not serve as the optimal vehicle to satisfy particular business needs.
Review and/or create prototypes, low fidelity wireframes, and serve as gatekeeper to ensure the satisfaction of stated business objectives.
Support other team members in larger research efforts.

Training Director Responsibilities: 30 - 40%
Produce training materials (e.g., quick reference guides, user documentation, training guides, etc.) for internal and external audiences.
Plan and facilitate ongoing training on TFANet for regional and national content contributors.
In partnership with the TFANet Editor to manage a list of content editors, including the TFANet Regional Content Coordinators; and proactively identify and fill gap in TFANet ownership with staff transitions.
Work with TFANet Editor to maintain and produce online help content in both static and interactive formats for end users.
Identify opportunities to partner with Program teams to extend TFANet training and cultivation efforts across the organization.
Galvanize internal grassroots strategy to increase TFANet user penetration, retention and engagement across the organization; engage in internal marketing techniques to further understand and define our diverse community of user profiles.

Candidate Profile and Experience Prerequisites

2+ years experience as a business analyst in the internet industry preferred or a related role in gathering, defining, and managing business requirements for related technology projects
2+ years experience facilitating and leading training and development of instructional materials for internet, tech or e-learning industries; solid foundational understanding of basic adult learning principals
Demonstrated knowledge about trends in internet technology and social networking tools; solid understanding and alignment with user-centered design; proven ability to evaluate website for what makes a strong user experience and suggest feature enhancements.
Solid understanding of user interface best practices
Excellent analytic and problem solving skills, especially at the level of evaluating and implementing new site features and functionality
Excellent communication skills, detail-oriented, and possess the ability to interact with all levels of end users and technical resources
Excellent facilitator with strong leadership abilities.
Demonstrated understanding of critical differences between web and print content development
Ability to work on several very large and small projects at the same time, often at different stages of development.
Ability to work independently as well as on a team, with an extremely high level of energy and commitment. Entrepreneurial spirit a plus
Ability to translate complex technical applications into user-friendly, step-by-step instruction
Ability to work with multiple organizational levels and functional departments to recognize and resolve areas of conflict. Able to negotiate and build consensus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (both technical and non-technical)
Close attention to detail
