Growing commodity trading firm is seeking full time, entry-level IT person. We trade on the NYMEX and NYBOT trading floors and electronically.
Your main responsibility will be interacting directly with traders, clerks and staff to ensure that hand held and desktop computers, trading and risk applications are running smoothly.
Responsibilities:
• New computer deployment
• Software installation and upgrades
• Windows optimization and troubleshooting
• Resolving network & wireless issues, optimizing connectivity
• Remove and prevent spyware
• Basic computer repair (RAM, Hard Drive installs)
Requirements:
• excellent communication skills
• IT related degree
• Very knowledgeable of Windows XP, issues, troubleshooting
• Thorough understanding of networking, including wireless
• Ability to stay organized and prioritize effectively
• Comfortable under pressure
Assets
• In depth knowledge of Excel
• Programming or scripting
• Linux/Unix knowledge
• Knowledge of advanced networking concepts, benchmarking and testing
