QA Engineer
SecondMarket's Innovation and Technology Group is looking for several highly motivated and talented quality analysts to join our growing team in downtown Manhattan. We are leveraging the latest and most exciting technologies and we need the best and brightest people to help us to create the most advanced financial systems in the world Role Description Work with various business and engineering teams to:
• Champion and lead QA and testing throughout the organization in a way that improves overall productivity of the deliverables of IT team.
• Coordinate with multiple teams to implement uniform quality processes across the board and there by improve the quality of deliverables
• Report on schedule and progress resolving defects on a weekly basis
• Create and execute test scripts and test plans.
• Utilize leading edge tools and techniques to ensure product quality
• Provide input into the design, engineering, integration, and security plans, to ensure quality is built-in
• Build and maintain QA systems and procedures
• Work in an agile environment and at the same time, establish quality objectives for different deliverables
• Build/Monitor different QA metrics to track the QA initiatives put forward by you, and report to the senior management.
The ideal candidate should have all experience and skills listed below but realistically we are expecting to find individuals who understand the ideas and concepts, have similar prior experiences but most of all, are excited to learn new techniques and can talk to how they have or would approach the role.
Business
• Understanding of financial software products and the financial market in general
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage work to project timelines
• Ability to participate joint requirements sessions with business and technical teams and provide Inputs for improving the Quality of the deliverable
• Should be a good team player
Technical
• Understanding of capabilities and restrictions of RIA techniques such as AJAX and web remoting
• Proficient in online documentation techniques using wiki and web-based collaborative tracking tools
• Experience in Agile customer or proxy-customer role and Agile planning
• Experience with creating regression test scripts using different technologies (e.g. Ruby, Selenium, Java, Python etc).
• Knowledge of different testing strategies
• Experience with using different third party testing tools
Experience and Education
• Relevant BA/BS degree
• 5+ years Quality Analyst experience
• Experience with working with cutting edge web technologies
• Experience working as a Quality Analyst for transactional web applications, trading/marketplace platforms or auction sites strongly preferred
