Interactive Data Analyst/Systems Engineer Intern

Our firm applies computational finance techniques to massive amounts of textual data, in order to extract valuable semantic information that fuel proprietary trading algorithms
Responsibilities:
* Work with technology & business team to maintain peak performance of internal systems
* Assisting in the development of an internal initiative to provide visualizations to management team
* Develop internal dashboards to understand historical trends and system performance
* Anomaly detection on system, including real-time trading environment
Requried Skills:
* Previous experience managing & configuring production Linux servers
* Production level experience working with Amazon's EC2/S3 platforms
* Strong scripting skills
* Experience troubleshooting system outages/performance problems at the OS/application level
* Ability to articulate reasoning for applying different information techniques to data sets
* SQL/DB experience (ability to create complex queries from data tables)
* Ability to generate visualizations out of system metrics & SQL queries
Hours: 20-25/week
Compensation: There is a cash stipend available for this position
