Director of Internal Systems-Confidential Software Company
Responsibilities
• Direct teams designing, developing, and deploying internal infrastructure, including all of our mission-critical software for sales, development, web services, and content management.
• Work with the VP Engineering and senior managers to define internal technology strategies.
• Build and manage teams in NYC and India.
• Manage budgeting and planning for the organization.
Soft Skills
• Strong fundamental knowledge of computer science
• Some web application development experience and expertise
• 4-6 years' experience managing top-notch system admins and scripters in agile development and operation of web applications in support of internal functions.
• Expertise in working with internal customers to define best-in-class internal systems on aggressive schedules
• Strong skills in planning and budgeting
• Deep understanding of corporate compliance requirements: PCI DSS, SOX, etc…
• Strong communications and consensus-building skills
• Ability to develop talent within an organization
Hard Skills
• Linux System Administration
• MySQL DB Administration
• Perl, Python, Ruby Scripting
• Apache Webserver Administration
• Agile Development/SCRUM
Education/Experience
• 6-8 years with a web or media company
• BS Computer Science (or equivalent industry experience)
