Freelance Software Engineer – J2EE/JSP

General Description:
AKQA, a dynamic global marketing and technology services firm, is looking for an accomplished, experienced Java Software Engineer. This is a highly challenging position with opportunities for growth and learning additional skill sets.
Position Summary:
AKQA is looking for a Software Engineer with a strong dedication to recent and upcoming technologies. You will have the drive to design and develop innovative Java solutions which may have not been created before. Communication skills are essential to this position. You will be working with HTML/JSP web developers, and back-end J2EE developers. Project duration: 2-3 months.
Required Experience:
IT related degree and 2+ years relevant experience – Agency or Consultancy experience is a plus
Demonstrated experience developing web applications using Java and J2EE for a public facing website
Demonstrated experience with MVC, OOP and XML
Demonstrated experience with Spring 2, Hibernate3 and Java Server Pages development
Experience with Subversion and Eclipse
Experience with an RDBMS systems such as Oracle.
Excellent oral and written English communication skills
Enthusiastic to work in a fast-paced and dynamically changing environment
Desirable:
Experience with Weblogic Application Server
Experience with Linux Experience with JSP custom tags, JSTL a plus Experience with Maven and ANT
