there is a reason in this country that people under the age of 30yrs cannot
run for political position such as senators, governors, etc... that is...
because they're mentally incapable of comprehending complex issues and the
ramifications of cause and effect... actions/consequences.
people in their 20's go through a developmental stage called "individuation"
where they have to learn to separate from their parents and become
functioning adults on their own. trying to navigate their way through
budding relationships, job searches, financial stability... is the most
difficult challenges to them. A fundamental lack of judgment pervades
where they opt to drink too much, smoke pot, etc... in order to cope with
their situation/phase of life.
In trying to find their way, they often create visions and views of the world,
that just aren't so. Only through time, life and experience can they develop
the faculties and judgment to manage their own lives, and then guide and
assist others for the greater good.
Given this knowledge, it is unfortunate that our political system is set up in
such a way that people in their 20's, immigrants, and non-thinking americans
are allowed to vote in Presidential elections. The criteria by which the youth
measure a candidate is neither appropriate or beneficial to themselves or the
rest of the country. It's like allowing 20 sometings to say -- "hey, we only had
a couple drinks, trust us, it's not a problem driving YOUR KIDS home." YIKES!
That's what's happening here in this election process.
If one more kid who's never known anything except living as a young adult
(22 yrs to 30yrs) under a Republican (Bush) administration... talks about
'CHANGE' or 'CLEANING UP WASHINGTON' or 'Bush/Clinton Dynasties'... I will
scream. They've never voted before! They've never lived as an adult under a
democratic administration (Clinton) and thus have absolutely NO IDEA what that
would be like. Instead, the kids like to mirror the behavior and attitude of
biased news programs that have their own political agendas, but are too young
and naive to know that they are being marketed to... in the same way cigarette
companies market to high school kids.
If someone under 30 reads this -- know this -- there is a reason why people
get older -- they gain experience and perspective that YOU cannot have at your
age. It is incumbant upon the older adults to take care of the future
generations to come, while you kids just learn how to take care of yourselves.
Obama is a BAD CHOICE. PERIOD. He has NO experience. He was a US Senator for
8 months before he started his Presidential campaign -- thus he has
accomplished NOTHING in the Senate and thus NOTHING to demonstrate that he can
deliver ANY CHANGE as President. He is NOT concerned about PUBLIC SERVICE if he
chose NOT stick out even 1 TERM as a US Senator. Instead he
has chosen to SERVE HIS EGO. His self-proclaimed 'wisdom' for opposing the
War -- is GARBAGE. 90 Million people opposed it. Obama's insight is NO BETTER!
But what is WORSE, is that when he COULD VOTE, he VOTED 81 TIMES to
"drive the bus deeper into the war ditch" instead of voting alongside 35 other
senators who were trying to get the BUS OUT FROM DAY 1. Thus we can't TRUST HIM
Lastly -- we don't need an inspirational speaker for President. If HE hasn't
inspired you to volunteer in a hospital or organize a committee for
recycling or something like that -- then his inspiration is WORTHLESS.
Inspiration needs to DRIVE people to take ACTION to better themselves and the
world -- NOT JUST TO CAST A VOTE. NO ONE PERSON IS GOING TO CHANGE THE WORLD.
YOU MUST CHANGE.
What is NEEDED from a President is someone who has experience in foreign
affairs, has managed a budget on a state or national level, someone who is
a good diplomat and respected, and someone with a resume that shows prior
experience and results along with some good references.
Obama has no experience and the references he has -- a la Rev Wright, louis
Farrahkan, William Ayers... are not the kind of crowd you want to see
hanging out with the President of the United States.
In the SAME WAY... YOU... might tell someone in high school... to TRUST YOU...
when you give them advice about a decision about college or relationships
(because you've been there, done that... and see things different than they do
because of your age)... YOU MUST, MUST... TRUST the advice of someone who is
in their 30's or 40's 50's... regarding this election IF... THEY are informed.
HOME WORK -- If you get your news from MSNBC or CNN -- watch FOX NEWS for one
week. If you watch FOX, then watch CNN. Allowing competing schools of thought
to stimulate your mind and increase your awareness is the only way anyone
can grow. This election is far too important to let drunk kids behind the
wheel of the election vehicle... especially when me, my wife, and kids are
all in the car with them.
