I was there (and already quoted as to "why" online before I returned home (3 hr ride) via an internet newspaper) and surrendered to arrest. The exemplary treatment of us all, by the NYPD, was jaw dropping. All Officers were not only kind, but went above the call of duty to make sure we were all comfortable and feeling well. Our different paths of life and reasons for participating was of genuine interest to the Officers. Once in the actual jail cells, Officers continued to check on our well being while processing the overwhelming amount of paper work before them, never once making any disparaging or complaining comments about that. I applaud them, and believe that they want no part in being labled with such a travesty as we protested.
