I am so proud of the people who peacefully protested the acquittal of the three police officers in the wrongful death of unarmed Sean Bell. Rev. Sharpton, once a polarizing and reviled figured has redeemed himself over the years standing up for justice time and time again. Sean Bell's death was wrongful because it is a shame a man can be killed with such overwhelming force just because the color of his skin illicits fear in the supposedly fearless. Wrong because Mr. Bell was unarmed and if suspect in anything, should have been arrested not murdered. New Yorkers of all types abhor this incident and it is unbelievable that the three officers were guilty of NOTHING. What is a young man's life worth? What if he were your son, brother, husband, nephew cousin or father?

It is peculiar that in another police action yesterday in Philadelphia captured by helicopter video, 15 or so police officers felt the need to beat, kick, pummel, punch and relentlessly attack suspects who they had subdued and had held down, handcuffed and made immobile. What kind of "fear" compelled these police to become judge, jury and nearly executioners?

The way they treated these suspects, suspects who were likely involved in a triple slay and under circumstances where a police officer was killed earlier is abominable even if it is understandable that the police were...on edge?

I most certainly support the police doing their jobs but we DON'T LIVE IN MYANMAR, NOR SOME OTHER POLICE STATE. All suspects are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law. These scum should have been arrested and immediately taken to jail. Handle them rough. Give them no TLC but don't become savages like they allegedly are.

It is important the police remain PROFESSIONAL. It is important the police remain in the trust of the general public. The public will support them BUT NOT WHEN THEY THEMSELVES BECOME PERPETRATORS OF INJUSTICE.

It is absurd to perpetually use the argument that because suspect are black, that they illicit such raging and irrational fear that it is always justified killing them on site.

I don't have symphathy for criminals. I feel that most people in jail belong there and that I support law enforcement because the overwhelming majority of them are decent professionals who do a good and very tough job but I don't want SADISTS TO GET A FREE PASS. What kind of country is this?????
