Job Title: Behavioral Health Counselor
(Also seeking fee-for-service Art Therapist for group session)
Reports To: Director of Asian American Recovery Services
Minimum Qualifications:
• Master Degree and a minimum of one year of job-related experience, with a LMHC, LMSW or LCSW license and a CASAC.
• Experience in substance abuse and mental health treatment services preferred.
• Bilingual in English/Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese) required
• Good oral and written communication skills
Responsibilities:
• Provide assessment and treatment services which include individual, family and group counseling and other support services to patients with substance abuse and problem gambling issues.
• Complete and maintain accurate clinical records and reports regarding the patient’s history and progress, services provided, and other required information.
• Develop and review patients’ treatment plans to comply with changes in client status.
• Intervene as advocate for patients to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations.
• Provide patients or family members with information about addiction issues and about available services and programs, making appropriate referrals when necessary.
• Coordinate counseling efforts with mental health professionals and other health professionals such as doctors, nurses, and social workers.
• Develop or translate counseling materials from English to Chinese or other Asian language.
• Provide community outreach and educational activities to Asian American community to recruit new patients.
• Able to perform duties on Saturday or evening hours during weekdays when needed.
