SKIP is a Non-Profit Case Management Organization which provides services to families with Developmentally Disabled and Medically Fragile Children.
We are currently seeking ResHab and Respite Specialists to work one-to-one with our consumers in the 5 Boros.
*As a
Residential Habilitation Specialist your job is to
TEACH, ASSIST, PROMPT, AND TRAIN THE CONSUMER ON VARIOUS LIFE SKILLS. This can involve assisting the consumer with homework, self-help skills, and play skills.
*As a
Respite Specialist your job is to
PROVIDE RELIEF TO THE CAREGIVER BY SUPERVISING THE CHILD.
*Minimum Requirements:
-High School Diploma/GED
-18 Years of age or older
-At least 6 months experience to be considered (Please do not respond if you lack the experience)
*Part-Time: Schedules may vary depending on the family in which you are servicing. A detailed list of schedules and family/locations are noted below:
*ResHab Rate: $8.00 to $10.00 per hour depending on Education and Experience
*Respite Rate: $8.25 per hour

Brooklyn Family # 1)
Seeking a Male who can work one-to-one with a developmentally disabled 20 year old young man in the Bayridge section of Brooklyn. Will be required to assist with studies.

COLLEGE GRAD - ( BA OR MA IN ENGLISH )

Brooklyn Family #2 (Respite)
Seeking a Female who can work one-to-one with a developmentally disabled 9 year old boy in the Midwood section of Brooklyn. Will be required to supervise the boy and keep him occupied.
Flexible Schedule. Seeking person to work 12-20 hours in a week or over the weekend.
Bronx Family #1 (Res/Hab)
Seeking a Male who can work one-to-one with a developmentally disabled 14 year old boy in the Riverdale section of the Bronx
Will be required to assist with homework and play skills.
3 Flexible days a week from 6:00PM to 10:00PM.
Bronx Family #2 (Respite)
Seeking a Female who can work one-to-one with a developmentally disabled 13 year old boy in the Fordham section of the Bronx. Will be required to provide 100% supervision to the boy.
Weekends, Flexible with hours.
Bronx Family #3 (Respite)
Seeking a young Male who can work one-to-one with a developmentally disabled 5 year old boy in the Gunhill section of the Bronx. Will be required to teach James how to play sports, such as basketball and also assist with homework.
Monday & Friday from4:00PM to 6:00PM
Long Island Family# 1 (Res/Hab)
Seeking a Male or Female who can work one-to-one with a developmentally disabled 8 year old boy in the Islip area of Long Island. Will be required to assist with homework, self help skills, and community integration. Must be active and love sports!
3 Days A Week From 3:30 PM to 7:30PM or 4:00PM to 8:00PM
Long Island Family #2 ( Res/Hab)
Seeking a Female who can work one-to-one with a developmentally disabled 19 year old young woman in the East Patchague section of Long Island. Will be required to assist with bathing, dressing, and other self-help skills as well.
3 Flexible Days A week from 3:00PM to 7:00PM
Manhattan Family (Respite)
Seeking a Female who can work one-to-one with a developmentally disabled 21 year old young man in the downtown area of Manhattan. Will be required to assist with self-help, fine motor, and cognitive skills.
*Russian or Polish speaking a huge plus but Not Required!

Seeking a Female to work one-to-one with a developmentally disabled boy in the Rockaway Park area of Queens. Will be required to supervise the boy and also assist with self-help skills.

Seeking a Male or Female to work one-to-one with a developmentally disabled 11 year old boy in the Flushing section of Queens. Will be required to assist the boy with homework, household chores, communication, and play skills.
