Edwin Gould Academy is a private, not-for-profit, community-based, Multi-Service Center and Residence. The Academy operates a dynamic social services program and 51 units of homeless housing for former foster care/juvenile justice placements on 110th street in East Harlem, NY. Edwin Gould Academy has a 19-year history of serving youth and young adults who have experienced out-of-home placement through the foster care/juvenile justice system.

The position involves supporting all aspects of Edwin Gould Academy’s fundraising: proposal writing, prospect research, planning and implementation of fundraising strategy, developing and distributing promotional materials, monitoring and submitting all funder reports. The position is a dynamic and evolving career opportunity that requires very strong writing skills, efficient organizational skills, and an ability to work under the pressure of multiple deadlines.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Degree in a related field.
2. Minimum 5 years relevant development experience. Experience must include: writing proposals, cultivating individual donor base, filing applications for government funding, writing interim reports and final reports.
3. A proven proficiency in developing Strategic Plans and fundraising goals.
4. Ability to collect and understand social science research data.
5. Very strong writing skills.
6. Ability to demonstrate a command of grammar and style.
