Perceptive Pixel seeks a highly self-motivated, organized, proactive individual to fill the position of Manufacturing & Installation Engineer. This individual will be part of the team which works in a fast-paced, sometimes high-pressure environment and is responsible for constructing and installing Perceptive Pixel’s multi-touch display systems at Fortune 100 corporations, government agencies, and medical and education facilities. The position may also serve as front-line support during product launches, trade shows and other special events, etc. This is not an entry-level or training position.
Responsibilities:
- Customer service oriented engineer who represents Perceptive Pixel and behaves in a manner which reinforces the company’s image as the highest quality, most knowledgeable and efficient innovators in the field
- Produce high quality, detail-oriented work on a designated schedule, while maintaining regular attendance and punctuality
- Light assembly of rear-projection display screens and optical systems
- Configuration of PC servers and software installation
- Preparation and packaging of product components and installation equipment
- On-site assembly, installation, disassembly and service of products
- Scheduling and planning of own personal logistics; track receipts and file paperwork accurately
- QA and testing of products prior to shipment and during installation
- Documentation and communication of processes, results, and problems
- Identification of opportunities for product and process improvement
Qualifications:
- Must possess knowledge of construction principles and practices, understanding of computer concepts, applications, and configurations.
- Solid experience in installing, repairing, and servicing commercial audio visual installations including projectors, screens, displays, wiring, cabling, computer controls, rack-building
- Ability to think & work independently and meet necessary deadlines
- Superior problem solving and troubleshooting skills; creative thinking and ability to “think on your feet”
- Effective professional-level interaction with employees, customers and colleagues
- Attention to detail and customer support, including commitment to seeing projects through when onsite
- PC proficient – must already know your way around a computer
- Highly proficient user of hand tools & test equipment
- Ability to travel (sometimes up to 75% of the time) domestically and, occasionally, international locations
- Must be a US citizen and possess a valid US Passport and Driver’s License; have and continue to maintain a safe and clean driving record
- Flexibility to work occasional weekends
- Network and AV control knowledge is a plus
- US military clearance a plus or verifiable “clean” background. We regularly work in highly secure locations, so you will need to pass a rigorous background check; Background investigation for security clearance is possible
Special Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 75lbs.
- Must be able to work in sometimes cramped environments
- Must have sufficient physical agility to walk, climb, stand, crawl, and stretch on a continuing basis
- Must be able to work at moderate heights up to 10 feet above the ground
