• Responsible for research and development of seasonal trends.
• Assist in interpreting seasonal fashion direction, assortment opportunities for key accounts.
• Partner with Production Manager in set-up and presentation during customer presentations.
• Prepare line and presentation material for line previews and buy meetings, including color/concept boards, print boards and may include story boards.
• Partner with Production Manager in set-up and how to present to customers in line reviews and market visits.
Detailed Accountabilities:
Design and Trend Research:
• Shop the retail market seeking new merchandise/trend ideas.
• Shop the trend market seeking design inspiration (materials, fashion, color, trade shows) as needed.
• Interpret specific color palettes, patterns and prints for the season.
• Select and approves style, materials, trims and colors that fit into the program and style plans
• Responsible for creating and distributing fabric development packages.
• Responsible for creating and distributing color cards & pattern development sheets.
• Develop flat mechanical sketches for design development packages and request development samples.
• Responsible for tracking and approving labs dips, fabric samples, strike-offs and other development materials
Merchandising/Product Development:
• Adhere to the seasonal time and action calendar.
• Modify the product line based on target customers needs. Follow the customers input.
• Assist in identifying the key programs that comprise each classification.
• Communicate regularly with production manager to gather input and share line development direction.
• Communicate on a daily basis with overseas offices to share line development direction.
Production:
• Attend fit sessions. Understand Technical process.
• Select and approve materials, patterns and colors.
• Use CAD programs for style, color and pattern development
Develop Tech Packs for each target customer.
Trim Cards created for each product line.
Skill Summary / Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree in Design or Fine Arts or equivilent.
• 2-5 years of industry experience.
• Strong color sense / print sense.
• Ability to view and differentiate the color spectrum.
• Proficiency in PC operation, MS office and Excel
• Strong working knowledge of Illustrator, CAD, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop.
• Demonstrated creative ability.
• Presentation and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage workload with multiple deadlines.
Understand Fabric construction, design and dying process.
Experience with Photoshop. You will take photos and design flyers.
Video editing experience. We use Sony Vegas.
Admin experience required.
Must be organized, well spoken, and have a strong command of the English language.

You must have an eye for design and be flexible in your creativity. You should have the ability to multi-task and implement projects with limited instructions and have excellent organizational skills. You need to be a self-starter but our shop is a very cool place to work, and we are just a few blocks from Times Square on Broadway.
This is an unpaid internship and we request a minimum of 24 hr/wk and at least a 3 month commitment.
Spring internships begin in January, summer internships begin in early June and fall internships begin in late August/early September. There is some flexibility in start dates. Weekly stipend or college credit available.
Artistic Intern
Responsibilities may include logging and tracking submissions; organizing show coverage; assisting with play readings and developmental workshops; evaluating submissions and attending productions; and general administrative support for the artistic staff.
This is a full-time position.
Production Intern
Responsibilities may include maintaining inventory of sound/lighting equipment; assisting production staff on Mainstage productions and series programming; and gathering production materials as needed. This internship will provide hands-on experience in a variety of production disciplines; previous technical production experience a plus.
Full-time and part-time positions available.
General Management Intern
Responsibilities may include assisting with day to day Front of House activities; organizational projects; maintaining artist contracts; drafting correspondence; special projects including research for union and individual contract negotiations, as well as legal and copyright issues; assistance in development efforts; and general administrative support.
This is a part-time position.
Marketing/PR Intern
Responsibilities may include marketing research, press outreach, proofreading and editorial work, sales analysis and social network updates. Interests or involvements with writing, promotion, blogs, NYC arts, and social communities preferred. Mac OS X/ iWork experience a plus.
This is a part-time position.
Digital Media/Web Intern
Responsibilities may include updating web content and social networking sites, light video/photo editing,and minor web/graphic design. Interested applicants should have experience with iMovie or Final Cut, Adobe Creative Suite, and basic HTML knowledge. Interest in theater/NYC arts a plus.
