I am doing a new media art project for which I need someone who can write Applescript. The project involves displaying image files, scanning them using OCR and speaking the scanned text using text-to-speech. I have a more specific step by step list of what I need the script to do, which is as follows:
open image file, display on screen
open same file in adobe acrobat pro
scan using ocr (acrobat feature)
export text to separate file, i.e. "1.txt"
display contents of 1.txt on the screen, below the image which is already being displayed
speak text contained in 1.txt, using apple's text-to-speech 'say' command
repeat for next file
repeat whole sequence infinitely
after first round, we can reuse same file, no need to do OCR scan anymore
---------
This is just my own break down of what I think is a good way to do it, I am open to any other ideas, including using software other than Acrobat Pro for the OCR.
