About the Cantonese Classes:

The classes are taught by Repetition and Phonetics.

NOTE: Please arrive on time and bring Pen & Binder or Notebook.

Register in class - just tell teacher you're new.



The following classes are held in Manhattan's Chinatown at:

Sun Yat Sen Intermediate School - I.S 131

100 Hester Street

Schedule of Classes *
The new Fall schedule: All classes currently held at IS 131 at 100 Hester street, one block south of the Grand street subway station for the D and B trains. Ask security for the room number as it changes at times without warning.

NOTE: We are trying to secure a classroom for Hung's Intermediate class. Schedule will be added when we get it!

Mondays ~ NO Classes October 12th Happy Columbus Day!

6pm-7pm Chinese Menu Reading and Writing (Cantonese pronunciation) with Tony ~ 917-767-7194
7pm-8:30pm Accelerated Cantonese 101/102(with Chinese characters) with Tony

Wednesdays (no class Oct 14th -pvt party for Teacher)
6pm-7:30pm Cantonese 101 with Tony ~ 917-767-7194

Saturdays
12:15-1:00 Chinese Dim Sum part 2-Reading/Writing with Tony ~ 917-767-7194
1:00-2:00 Cantonese 101.5 with Kam THIS CLASS IS NOW FULL & CLOSED TO NEW STUDENTS! This is a special, intensive class, emphasizing conversational skills, for anyone who has either completed the 101 level or possesses an equivalent command of the Cantonese language. Students will be expected to have a minimal understanding of the Jyut6 ping3 / six tone system as well as a basic knowledge of Cantonese grammar and vocabulary.

2:00-2:45 Cantonese 101 with Tony (NEW 16 week cycle began September 12th)
2:45-3:45 ESL(English as a Second Language) with Tony ~ 917-767-7194


We understand that there is some overlap, so that it is not possible to attend all of the classes. Our apologies for any inconvenience.

Remember, any of the classes may be attended at any time. So come on down if you have time. Don't forget to practice your Cantonese and Chinese characters every day.

When you get to I.S 131, the door on the far left is usually unlocked; then just ask security for the room number.
