List of 2008 successful students that I have helped:

Tanya(710), Shoaib(730), Eme(770), June(710), Peter(710), Matt(750), Chris(760), Shannon(700), Adam(760), Katy(700), Damien(760)

My students are my ultimate testimonials and I would be happy to give their references to anyone who would like to speak to them.

I am available to help you do well on the Quantitative section of GMAT. I have a graduate degree in engineering with a strong background in mathematics. I scored a 100% on the Quantitative part (Q51, 99%+)in a recent GMAT test (overall 750). The teaching will focus on fundamentals and really understanding the concepts needed to do well. I don't teach shortcuts, back solving, or other inane techniques taught by test prep companies, these techniques have a place but only as a last resort. In GMAT if one wants to do really well, then the most important thing is to understand the basics inside out. The real challenge in the test is to tackle unfamiliar situations that always seems strange at first, but are quite easy once one is able to twist and mold the problem. Most test prep courses are a joke and if you don't believe it then ask students who have taken the courses or check some of the online forums on GMAT preparation.

I am a full time tutor based in San Francisco and I am available to help students who would like to work with me via Web Conferencing software. I would be happy to provide you with the contacts of my present and past students to confirm my credentials. You are more than welcome to have a no cost trial session, you will be amazed by how much you can learn in 2 hours of one-on-one tutoring.
Unique things I offer:

* Personalized problem sets on topics that a student is encountering difficulty.
* Practice questions that reflect the content that is being tested by the current test writers.
* Notes and advanced concepts typically missing in the run of the mill test prep books.
* Emphasis on fundamentals and core concepts and actually teaching the material.
* Structured study plans for students who are in early stages of preparation.
* Targeted sessions on advanced topics for students aiming for 700+ score.
* Tons of practice material with focus on quality.

I have also attached testimonials of students that I have tutored in person in the Bay Area, please let me know if you have any more questions.

Thanks,

Online Tutoring Testimonials

Eme:
I am generally a good test taker and so would not usually consider
getting an exam tutor, but Dabral was so enthusiastically recommended by
a friend of mine that I decided to contact him. And having completed a
course of sessions with him, and achieved a GMAT score in the 99th
percentile, I can appreciate why my friend was so keen I should use him.
Particularly as I work full-time at a demanding job, it was so useful to
have sessions with questions and problem sets chosen to suit my
individual ability level and problem areas, and clear explanations of
what to expect on the exam and how to tackle any types of the maths
problems, as opposed to the study guides I had previously used which try
to pitch to all types of students, but cannot really be the ideal level
or format for everyone. Dabral's help has been invaluable, and I in turn
intend to recommend him to any friends considering the GMAT.

Sala:
When I first took the GMAT, I thought I was very well prepared because I had been studying for 8 months. When I saw my score at the end of the exam I was devastated. I had received a 490. I scored a 33 on the quantitative. I rescheduled for the exam and I realized 3 weeks before I was to take it again, that I needed better guidance. That's when I found Dabral. I was little nervous prior to our first meeting because our tutoring sessions were limited to online only. Dabral and I lived in different time zones. After the first session, I was so grateful to have found Dabral. He showed me very useful methods in tackling the GMAT quantitative questions. I realized that I really didn't know what the questions were asking. Dabral showed me several ways the exam would ask a certain question. We stuck with what I was having trouble with because the exam was less than three weeks away. The day of the exam, I thought about Dabral and his methods and I wound up walking out with a 670 (Q45). The GMAT is difficult but doable. Thank you Dabral.

Janice: With my busy schedule and distance from the north bay, it would've been very difficult for me to get the tutoring I needed and within the short time window I had. Dabral was flexible enough to provide live, online tutoring sessions via web-conferencing. This format was not only convenient, but it didn't hinder his ability to instruct and get his point across. Each question/problem that he scribbled out was shared in real-time and also captured and saved. It was extremely helpful for me to have a soft copy of our sessions so I could later go back and reference it.

Previously, I had taken an in-person Kaplan class and did self-study using the Princeton Review and Official GMAT Guides. The tutoring sessions with Dabral were, by far, the most useful. He covered materials that were not covered in any materials I had encountered. I was disappointed to see that the "pros" hadn't thought to cover the topics that Dabral had.

Dabral was very professional, friendly, and clearly a subject matter expert. Anyone considering the GMAT should first get tutoring from Dabral before they waste money on those other standard courses that have little value compared to what Dabral can offer.

Silvia: Dabral is a wonderful tutor. He is extremely knowledgeable and knows to communicate really well. Dabral provided me with questions specifically tailored to my needs. Dabral was always courteous and very professional. Dabral really teaches you the math concepts, not just shortcuts to “get-by” on the test; Dabral really makes you think. I would recommend Dabral to anyone not just interested in performing well on the GMAT but also in truly understanding the concepts. I did not have previous experience as in-person tutor, but I can tell the quality of online sessions were fantastic. I never thought I was "lost" without actually seeing the tutor. Dabral made the online sessions perfectly easy to follow and the objectives were always met. The fact that I was in a different state was never a problem. The key is to have a great tutor as is Dabral. Finally, Dabral is a tutor who really cares for his students and that speaks highly about him.

Michelle: Dabral's explanations are very clear and thorough. He
gives many example problems to illustrate each
concept. He also has great insight into the types and
frequency of problems currently being asked on the
GMAT. The live online format of his tutoring worked
extremely well for me, and I preferred this option to
meeting with local tutors--(Too much hassle and lost
time for commute down to the City and back). His hours
are flexible, and his prices are very reasonable.

In Person Tutoring Testimonials

Tina: I came to Dabral because I had tried everything else and knew that I would have to score above 700 to get into a top business school. Overall, Dabral really helped me understand the fundamentals of the quantitative section in a way that made sense. The fact that he provided a lot of examples similar to actual tests and taught me many short cuts and tricks was helpful. Also, he was able to help me identify my areas of weakness and improve upon them through constant practice. Most importantly, though, Dabral taught me how to think about the test in a way that I hadn't before. I really appreciate all of his help and still can't believe I was able to improve my score by 70 points! I have never scored above a 700 on any of my practice tests and this just goes to show just what I was capable of! Thanks so much Dabral!

Shachi: I tried major GMAT prep courses (Princeton Review and Veritas) before coming to Dabral. I wish I would have known about him earlier - I could have saved so much money and time! Dabral really helped me understand the basics of the quantitative section far better than any of the prep courses. The best thing about having Dabral as a tutor was that he identified my key areas of weakness and gave me extra examples and targeted practice sets so I could improve in those areas. He's also very patient and really cares about improving his student's scores. I highly recommend Dabral to anyone who wants to do well on the quant section - he really knows his stuff!. My quantitative score improved by 30 percentile. Thanks Dabral!

Kirsti: I sought out Dabral's help after undergoing an elite GMAT prep course, many hours of self-study, and instruction with another tutor. Dabral's style is highly customized: he pinpoints your weaknesses, provides additional examples for further comprehension during your session, and emails you real GMAT practice questions to enable mastery. Dabral helps to alleviate anxiety about the exam by exposing you to all types of GMAT questions - and stratgies for solving them. Additionally, Dabral is friendly, professional, and genuinely cares about your progress. I would highly recommend Dabral to individuals of all levels.
Melissa: I originally sought Dabral's help in order to strengthen some key areas for the quantitative section of the GMAT. Over several meetings, we honed in on my weaknesses; he developed targeted problem sets for me, taught me how to approach certain problems, highlighted typical traps, and prepped me for taking the GMAT in general. Through it all, Dabral was a patient and enthusiastic teacher. I strongly believe that without Dabral's help, I wouldn't have done as well on the GMAT. Because I am planning on applying to some of the top business schools, it was crucial that I score well on the test. With Dabral's help, I exceeded even my own expectations and was able to score a 770.
Keith:
I am a very satisfied student of Dabral. His method of teaching emphasizes understanding the quantitative content in a way that allows you to adapt your knowledge to answer any question the GMAT throws at you. I first took the GMAT after attending a 10 week course from a national chain - and I was very unimpressed with my score. By listening to Dabral - and, per his instructions, practicing his method on my own I was able to grasp the fundamentals in a way that allowed me to add 80 points to my score - enough to gain admission to Wharton ! Thanks, Dabral- I wish I knew about you before I wasted my money with a big name GMAT prep course.

Steve: I recently hired Dabral to help me get up to speed on the quantitative section of the GMAT. I needed to hit the 90th percentile or higher on the quant section for the programs I was considering but only had about 8 weeks to study (plus maintain a 60 hour per week job). One particular subject in which I needed a lot of improvement was advanced algebra - an area in which Dabral was particularly strong. Also, it was outstanding that he had familiarity with every different type of question that one encounters on the GMAT. One thing I found especially helpful was the personalized question set he emailed me after each session which was based on my weaknesses and helped me get the most improvement in the least amount of time. The end result was a score of 760 and I have no qualms about recommending him unconditionally.

David: Before I started my prep work for the gmat, I considered prep courses such as the princeton review and kaplan. Their large class sizes and formulaic courses did not offer the individualized attention I needed. I wanted to understand the concepts before getting to the shortcuts and I realized that my focus areas would be different from others in the class. In our first few sessions, Dabral was able to help me identify subjects where I was weak. By identifying these weaknesses, we were able to structure a timeline to address these areas of concern. His patience and genuine interest in helping me understand the concepts to solve problems enabled me to improve my quantitative score. Within a matter of weeks I was able to increase my quantiative score by at least 24%. If you are looking to improve your math skills, I highly recommend Dabral as a math tutor.

Jim: Dabral was great to work with--flexible on scheduling, very knowledgeable, genuinely interested in helping me achieve my goals. I found the personal attention much more time and cost effective than a cookie-cutter class like Kaplan. I highly recommend Dabral if you're looking to take your math scores to the next level.

Jason: Dabral is an excellent GMAT instructor and I would recommend him to people of all ability levels looking to score high on the quantitative section. He is able to simplify the most challenging subjects to their core components and provide effective strategies for attacking the most difficult problems. Prior to working with Dabral, I was able to solve most of the more difficult questions in about four minutes, but after a few sessions with Dabral, I developed different strategies for certain problems and was able to solve those same difficult problems in half the time. Dabral's strategies allowed me to save valuable minutes on the actual exam. Just to be clear, Dabral does not teach tricks or short cuts that are found in most GMAT preparation books, rather he forces his students to view the problems from a different perspective. He has a lot of actual experience with the GMAT test and is up to date on all the topics being tested today. Aside from being highly knowledgeable in math, Dabral is also a very kind and friendly person.

Annie: Math has always been my weakest subject, and Dabral really helped me build a strong foundation for my quantitative skills. He's well prepared for every meeting, knowledgeable in all topic areas, and very patient. I couldn't have gotten my ideal GMAT score without his help.

Anna: Initially, the GMAT was an extremely frustrating and difficult undertaking
for me because I did not fully understand my strengths and weaknesses. I
took courses with Princeton Review, evaluated multiple private tutors, and
even tried to tackle the test on my own. All of these methods proved
ineffective because I could not achieve a score higher than 600. Dabral offered me much more than a review of basic quantitative skills. He
systematically identified and targeted my weaknesses and limitations. Based
on a full understanding of my capabilities, he then developed a strategy to
enable me to achieve 720 on the GMAT.
Dabral was focused, organized, and adaptable to my learning style. His
motivating and creative approach helped build the confidence and efficiency
that I needed when I took the actual exam. I highly recommend Dabral as your
tutor for any standardized quantitative exam.

Improving your Japanese competency is my number one priority. Let's speak, listen, read, write and LOVE Japanese!

With a complex system of writing and syntax, Japanese might turn away even the most skilled linguists. However, though it may not seem like it, there is rhyme and reason at the core of the Japanese language. I have put my language skills to the test in academic and social settings, both in the US and in Japan, and I have learned how to overcome the challenging linguistic hurdles that plague students. I want to help others learn effectively and enjoyably!

I teach Japanese from the Starting level to Advanced Intermediate level with a curriculum centered around your interests. I usually teach at coffee shops but I am available to teach out of your home if you would like. I also offer online lessons with a sizable discount off my normal rates. I can also provide all of the materials necessary for a comprehensive learning experience. (Of course, I can work with your existing materials and/or recommend materials for you to buy if you would prefer!)
I teach English to Japanese people through private lessons. I deal with those with a limited ability to speak English as well as those with an advanced command of the language. I typically teach at coffee shops, however I am able to come to your home if that is necessary. The first lesson is $20 for 60 minutes, $30 for 90 minutes.
Private Coaching for Serious Actors of All Ages and Levels of Experience

Let Me Help You Make Each Audition the Best it Can Be.

Overcome "Audition Anxiety" and prove Why You should Get the Job!

Larkin is private coach to many rising young stars and has studied with some of the finest teachers in the world as well as being one of the most successful actors of his generation. He is not, like many teacher/coaches a "wannabe", but has been there and done that. "After thirty years of starring opposite the likes of Susan Lucci and Adam Sandler, there's not much I haven't seen" (See Bio below)

Instead of holding classes this Summer, I will focus on what actors tell me they are looking for most: working one on one as a private coach and "Performer's Diagnostician".

As Performance Consultant at CBS, I have sat in on hundreds of auditions and on-camera screen tests and know what casting directors and agents are looking for from the actor. There is a science to picking up clues from the text as to what they are expecting when they see the actor. Mainly through lack of confidence, I've seen how actors have sabotaged themselves through fear of taking risks and making strong choices which can make all the difference between getting the job and hearing, "NEXT!". This approach is rarely, if ever, worked on in acting classes or with coaches.

Open slots are available for private coaching at my Park Slope, Brooklyn studio (20 minutes from Times Square), or in a Midtown studio.
My process addresses the real world situation actors face when they have been called in to see a casting director and frequently when interviewing a new agent. The difference, of course, is that instead of hearing "Thanks for coming in today, goodbye" from the Casting Director, we work together to determine how the actor would be perceived. There is a real science to picking up clues from the text as to what they are expecting when they see the actor and is something that is rarely, if ever, worked on in acting classes or with coaches, who frequently are frustrated actors themselves! In all modesty, I am really good at this and my background is unique in that I have been a network TV star, TV director and teacher as described at my website www.TheNewYorkActingCoach.com, if you haven't been there. My fee for each session is still the same $75 I've charged for the last 10 years (my accountant thinks I'm an idiot), but I love working with actors and I know many actors don't have much cash. I look forward to hearing from you and if you have any further questions, contact me here.
Larkin has studied under some of the finest teachers in the world, including Wynn Handman's Master Program, Anatoly Efros at Moscow's Tangaka Theatre (Stanislavsky Method), Ron Daniels of the Royal Shakespeare Company, John Stix (Meisner), etc. and has been a working actor, director and teacher for 30 years. After playing starring roles at the Arena Stage in Washington, the Goodman Theater in Chicago, he did a season of classics at the famed Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis. He starred at the Manhattan Theater Club, played Sky Whitney on ABC's "Edge of Night", a role that earned him an Emmy nomination as "Outstanding Actor", CBS's "Guiding Light" as Kyle Sampson, starred opposite Susan Lucci on ABC's "All My Children" where he played the role for which he is best known, Travis Montgomery, while working episodic TV and feature films.

After directing at NBC-TV's "Another World", he taught the on-camera acting class at the Weist-Barron School, has served on the faculty of The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts as well as teaching the Intermediate and Master Acting classes during the inaugural year at Greystone Studios. Larkin has been the on-site acting coach at a CBS-TV Network program for 7 years.

College application essays are challenging, and what you write will influence your chances of being admitted to a top school. I will work with you in-person, or via e-mail and phone, to help you answer each question to greatly improve your chances at getting into a top school.

I offer professional, highly individualized assistance so you can complete your essays in an efficient and timely manner. I will NOT write essays for you, but I will poke, prod, and cheer you on until you produce writing that reveals your strengths, passions, and potential -- and still sounds like it came from a human being. I can help you identify the best topics for each school and to clarify your goals.

As a writer and editor, I know how to steer you away from generalizations that anyone could have written and toward specific details that tell your story in an engaging way. As someone who has worked with many applicants to top schools, I know how to help you alter your essays to make each application sound as if it is written for your first choice school. And, of course, I know how to correct your grammar, diction, organization, and other mechanics. I have coached applicants to all the top schools, including many young people with highly technical backgrounds who did not consider themselves good writers. I make sure that all the essays for each application work together for a balanced presentation.

My rates are comparable to, or less than, those of online, commercial services, which charge for one essay at a time and restrict your access to your editor (or editors). I limit the number of college applicants I work with during each application season. The sooner you reserve a spot, the better.

What is Coaching? (NYC metro )

Coaches:

-Help people set better goals and then reach those goals.
-Ask their clients to do more than they would have done on their own.
-Focus their clients better to more quickly produce results.
-Provide the tools, support and structure to accomplish more.

How is coaching different from consulting? ...therapy? ...sports coaching? ...a best friend?

Consulting- Coaching is a form of consulting. But the coach stays with the client to help implement
the new skills, changes and goals to make sure they really happen.

Therapy - Coaching is not therapy. Instead of working on "issues", getting into the past or dealing
with understanding human behavior, we help clients move forward and set personal and professional
goals that will give them the life they really want.

Sports - Coaching includes several principles from sports coaching, like teamwork, going for the
goal and being your best. But unlike sports coaching, most professional coaching is not competition
or win/lose based. We strengthen the client's skills vs. helping them beat the other team. It's a
win/win.

Best friend - A best friend is wonderful to have. But is your best friend a professional whom you will
trust to advise you on the most important aspects of your life and/or business? Have a best friend and
a coach.

What is the basic philosophy of coaching?
Simply put, that we humans are great, that we're all discovering what we really want and that we get
can get what we want faster and easier by having a coach who's been there and who can help us.

Who hires a coach and why?
People hire a coach because:
-They want more.
-They want to grow.
-They want it easier.

It's as simple as that. Coaches help a client get all three. Quickly.
I'll be happy to help you to improve your french with conversation, reading and writing.
But I can also teach young children if you're intersted since I do have the experience for that and working with kids is always a magic moment.

I am a college-educated guitarist who first began playing the guitar at the age of seven. I first studied with my father, also a musician, went on to play classical and rock guitar and bass through high school, and then studied jazz guitar in college before moving to New York.

In my years as a student AND a teacher I have seen a lot of children and adults give up on music because they find it frustrating, too difficult, not rewarding, or lacking in personal meaning. I have always felt this to be a tragedy and have come up with a system that, I believe, not only provides students with the necessary foundation for mastering the instrument - one step at a time - but makes it gratifying and meaningful as well.

More than anything, I love to teach, and I think this separates me from the dozens of musicians who teach because they HAVE to, not because they WANT to.

I've been playing for a long time and have made - and learned from - a lot of mistakes along the way. Let me help you take the music where you want it to go.

I travel! If you live in the Upper East Side, Upper West Side, Tribeca, Union Square, Midtown, Greenwich Village, the East Village, Murray Hill, Gramercy, Greenpoint, Williamsburg, SoHo or Nolita I'll be happy to come to you.

Hi,

I am a Columbia University graduate and professional tutor in Manhattan with several years' experience. If you're not in the New York Metro area, I can tutor by email, AIM and phone.

I have had extensive experience tutoring for the SATs and SATIIs and scored an 800 on the SATII Writing, which is now the SAT Writing section. Don't waste your time and money on a course when I can work with you one-on-one to get closer to that perfect score.

I also tutor for Regents and Advanced Placement (AP) Exams in Math, Science, English and History as well as the SHSAT, the NYC high school entrance exam.

If you are interested in dedicated, top-quality tutoring for school or enrichment in any subject in elementary school through high school, or for standardized tests, please contact me.

I work on a long-term basis for students who need continued support to improve grades, study habits, and SAT scores. I also work on a short-term basis to help students catch up, or to help with test prep and finals.

Another service I provide is college counseling. I can help you with choosing a college, choosing the topic for and writing your college essays, picking and highlighting which extracurriculars to promote on your college applications, designing a resume to include with your application and preparing for the college interview. I also do editing work, so I can help you with your college essay if you've already written a draft.

The LSAT is a test of logic. The only way to perform well on this test is to learn how to create, analyze, and complete logical arguments and logic puzzles. Once you have done that, the only way to improve your performance on this test is PRACTICE! With enough practice and commitment, ANYONE can perform well on this test!

I will teach you the tools and strategies you need to perform well on the LSAT test! Save money and time instead of taking an expensive test prep course. Most students are already good at many of the types of questions on the LSAT and only need instruction in a few types of questions. Don’t waste countless hours in those classes learning how to answer questions you already can do! Focus only on those where you need improvement.

I scored in the 99th percentile. I have a great deal of experience in teaching reading comprehension, logical reasoning and logic games. I have never had a student who did not improve his or her scores after meeting with me.

You'll find out your weaknesses (if any), and only meet with me as long as you need to. You will mostly work on your own in order to save money but I will meet with you as often and for as long as you need!

I've performed as a jazz pianist in many of the most prestigious Jazz clubs in NYC, including The Blue Note, Iridium, Birdland, Jazz Standard, The Knitting Factory, Lenox Lounge and Sweet Basil. I have also performed in many of the other top Jazz Clubs in America as well as many other clubs and festivals throughout the world, in such countries as Japan, Switzerland, England, Italy and Canada, backing vocalists Mark Murphy, Jay Clayton, Sheila Jordan, Nancy King, Maria Muldaur and Jeffery Smith, among others. Learn to phrase, improvise, interpret songs and shape your repertoire. Singers: I can play your song in YOUR key and create arrangements just for you. Pianists: Learn different styles of solo and group playing, theory, counterpoint, and classic and avant garde chord voicings. Stride, bebop, hard bop, swing, and free improvisation will all be addressed while we learn to develop your own style . . . all while learning the critical techniques any player needs to play the piano effortlessly.

Although piano is my main instrument, I teach ALL instrumentalists. For any student of the bass, sax, trumpet, trombone, flute, violin, etc., who want to learn jazz theory, and how to hear and play jazz more fluently, I can help.

Dear Foreign speakers (with foreign accents):

Would you like to learn to speak "American."

Would you like to lose your foreign accent and speak "American" whenever you wish?

You can, you know. You can make the "American" sounds with your tongue and mouth. They have nothing against it. And they're not stopping you. You are. It's just a question of knowing and practicing the American vowel sounds, (A,E,I,O,U), both "long" and "short." And practice makes better.

I can help. My rates are reasonable. And it will only cost you a dime to inquire. Dial (718) 621-5724.

I hold a NY state teacher’s license, and have taught in NYC public high schools for 15 years.

My rate is $35 per hour, if you come to me, and somewhat more if I must come to you—depending on the travel-time and distance. I am located in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, near the 79th street (D train) subway.
Dial (718) 621-5724.

Learn to Read in a Few Weeks. (Seriously. No gimmicks. No tricks.)

Learn to Read in a Few Weeks…the only way…Phonetically.

Learn to read by learning and knowing the sounds of the letters, and by sounding out the written words, and then putting the words together into their contextual meaning.

Adults are just as welcome as children, if not more so.

I can help. My rates are reasonable. And it will only cost you a dime to inquire. Dial (718) 621-5724

Reading truly is fundamental, and the prerequisite for all else.

Phonics is the only way. The child (or adult) learns the sounds of the letters, and hence is able to S-O-U-N-D O-U-T strange or unfamiliar new words (that he or she has probably heard but never seen in print before). And there's the joy of discovery and the pride of progress in one's learning to read.

After all, that's what letters are: sound symbols. Both numbers and letters are symbols, the first for numbers and the second for sounds.

And therefore teaching reading without teaching the sounds of the letters ("phonics") is just like teaching math without teaching the meaning of the numbers.

As a child (or adult) cannot add 7 and 8 together without first learning what "7" and "8" mean, so a child (or adult) cannot truly learn to read without first learning what the letters mean. Again, they mean sounds. Letters are sound symbols.

And because NYC public schools don't teach this, (the sounds of the letters), their students read so very poorly.

I hold a NY state teacher’s license, and have taught in NYC public high schools for 15 years.

My rate is $35 per hour, if you come to me, and somewhat more if I must come to you—depending on the distance and travel-time. I am located in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, 11204, near the 79th street (D train) subway.

If you are like most of the students preparing for the GMAT, you probably need help with the quantitative (math) section. It is difficult to score in the top 10%, as you may have done back in high school, unless you have been properly trained. Everyone applying to B-school is bright. The applicant pool that you are being compared against may be the most competitive yet. This section is tricky and tests concepts you may not have seen in years.

I will help you achieve your best possible score on the GMAT quantitative (math) section. I am more than a tutor -- I am a GMAT coach. We will work as a team in order that you eliminate your fears and overcome your frustrations. You will be confident walking into the exam room. While I will teach you some tricks, I will emphasize the material that is on the exam so that you learn how to correctly answer questions, or eliminate wrong answers when you just don't know how to solve a particular problem. I can show you more than one way to solve many problems, so you can find an approach that you are comfortable with.

I can help you, whether you need to strengthen your math foundation, or if you have a great comfort level with numbers and need to learn how to solve the toughest problems.

Please email me with your contact information, and I will be glad to discuss my methodology with you.

LSAT Tutor -- When Kaplan Simply Isn't Enough

There is no dispute that Kaplan is a popular preparatory course. Some of Kaplan's students improve their LSAT score significantly from the first diagnostic exam to the final preparatory exam, and go on to score 170+ on the LSAT. Those students are not likely reading this ad.

Unfortunately, many students are unable to keep up with the pace of the assignments or lectures, have conflicting work commitments, or simply are unable to remember the appropriate tips and tricks under the time pressure of the exam -- especially with respect to LOGIC GAMES (Analytical Reasoning). In any mass-prep class, there is not a lot of time for the instructor to go in-depth on those questions which you do not understand. There is a certain amount of material that needs to be covered in each class. You may have ultimately found that you've parted with your hard-earned money, but did not meet your objective of successfully preparing for the LSAT, even though the course may have delivered exactly what it promised. You can sit through the same classes again, but you are likely to see many of the same questions, with the same approaches.

On the bright side -- you've already done many of each type of LSAT question, and you've been exposed to a lot of the LSAT material. You need an LSAT expert who can help you to put all of the material into perspective, and help you to better understand the tips and tricks that you've learned, so that you will be able to apply the appropriate technique to each new problem that is presented. You will train in the use of diagrams, charts and logic to simplify the questions, and significantly improve the likelihood of your quickly selecting the correct answer.

I am a results-oriented, dedicated professional who can guide you to success on the LSAT. Let's talk about your needs. Then if you wish, you may contact my successful students.

Whether you have already completed a course, or are just getting started in your approach...

Email me for further information, and let's make preparing for the LSAT an enjoyable and successful experience.

Dial (718) 621-5724

I hold a NY state teacher’s license, and have taught in NYC public high schools for 15 years.

My rate is $35 per hour, if you come to me, and somewhat more if I must come to you. I am located in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, nearby the 79th street (D train) subway.

My name is Mr. Troy.

LSAT TUTOR - LOGIC GAMES ONLY

Many LSAT students were liberal arts majors in college. They are great at reading comprehension, and do reasonably well at answering logical reasoning questions -- but those LOGIC GAMES can be tough.

If I've just described you, I can help you to firm up you logic game score -- PROMISE!!!

I'm not a lawyer, and I'm not a geek, but I am VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT LOGIC GAMES (and a high-powered MBA).

I'm an intelligent guy with a gift for teaching and expanding your mind, and I can help you to learn how to set up games, make appropriate inferences, and answer questions correctly and rapidly, so that you get to that fourth game on test day.

Five years' experience preparing students for the LSAT games section has enabled me to adapt different approaches to working with students of differing abilities and backgrounds. Each student has the option of two general approaches -- either we work together on preassigned games, where I guide you to the correct solution using a Socratic method, or you bring the games that you are having difficulty with, and I will give you my initial approach to, and thought process used in, deriving a solution. Within each general approach, I can adapt my specific style to what works best for you.

We can work on basic linear, advanced linear, sequencing, grouping, selection, hybrid, unbalanced, etc.

If you are taking the December exam, you haven't a moment to lose. You still have enough time to learn to thoroughly ace the games section. You need time to practice, so let's get started.

I am a learning specialist with a background in Engineering, Management and Behavioral/Social Science and provide individualized help tailored to a client's needs, including those with anxiety or motivational issues. My score in the Admission Test for Graduate Study in Business (as the GMAT used to be called) was the highest at the Graduate School of Management, University of Rochester and one of the highest in the United States. My GRE scores have been similar. I also provide other kinds of help such as preparing for exams & help a client acquire skills and confidence to succeed not just in the test but in the graduate program beyond that. He provides educational help to private clients and has helped many people over decades. This has included individual teaching of students with various issues at the graduate (such as helping a student with a spinal injury in a Master's in Social Work program at Boston University, with clinical and other courses; in a graduate program in Sociology at Northeastern University with emotional and cultural issues, with a variety of courses; and in a graduate program in Library Science, with Research Methods and statistical analysis, etc.) and undergraduate (such as helping an English major at Tufts University with a writing block that had prevented her from graduating for several years to finally graduate; a Business major at Boston College with several suicide attempts, eating disorders and other issues, with Operations Management, etc.) levels to successfully complete their programs.
Bass Lessons from touring, experienced bass player! (Queens )

To future bass players,

Learn bass from a seasoned touring bass player from right here in Queens NY. Learn various techniques from regular finger style, to slap bass, tapping and much more. Learn to play bass lines that you always wanted to learn. Learn how to improvise, how to write music and how to interact with other musicians. Lessons are for beginners or advanced students.

About me: I play bass for a rock- middle eastern - jazz band called Consider the Source. You can have a listen to my playing here at Myspace.com/ConsiderTheMusic or check out this youtube clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMq5HL32tbs. I've been playing bass for more than half of my life, have been teaching for the past 6 years and love to do it.

About the lessons - People want to play bass for many reasons whether it be just a burning desire to learn to play, leisure, or to finally see if it's anything like playing bass on Guitar Hero. Whatever the reason may be I like to work with my students on developing a goal and then a practice routine that works to get you to where you want to get as a bass player.

About you: If you are interested please write back with what makes you interested in bass, what kind of music you are interested in and what you would like to get out of the lessons.

I can work in your price range. My rates generally hover around $40 for an hour if you come to me. For traveling prices vary. I also give a $10 discount to college or high school students who are paying out of their pocket. I've been there I'm not trying to break anyones bank.

Please let me know if you have any questions or would like to schedule a lesson. Hope to hear from you soon

Now I’m offering a new photo service service called Big Apple Photo Safaris.

I will personally escort you to one (or more) of NYC’s countless photo venues. On tour I will show you how to capture our city’s energy, beauty and personality via digital photography.

My tours have three basic goals:

1)	Help you master your camera’s many photo-taking features

2)	Show you how to break away from stereotypical, shop-worn urban photography

3)	Have fun

All you need is any type of digital camera and the motivation to learn.

My rate is $80.00 per hour for all Manhattan and Brooklyn clients

Guitar Lessons From Manhattan School of Music Guitarist (Harlem / Morningside)

The Manhattan School of Music trained classic guitarist, Kenji, opened a guitar teaching studio,
and is available to teach from children to adults students to play the classic guitar!

I take a holistic approach to guitar teaching. I believe that playing the guitar is a very personal experience because it involves much more than one’s fingers and understanding of music theory: it involves the way one holds the guitar, the production of sound, and subtleties in the changing of notes. As such, in a lesson, I pay very close attention to the following:
* Posture
* Use of the whole body, including right and left hands
* Tone quality
* Musical interpretation
* Reading notes
* Rhythm

Through lessons, students will be able to develop not only a balanced technique but also a deep understanding of music theory.

My studio is located very close to 2 or 3 subway station on 125th Street.

PROFESSIONAL PIANO INSTRUCTOR!!!! (Upper West Side)

Hello,

My name is David Sklar. I am a professional piano/keyboard instructor as well as graduate of Manhattan School of Music and Berklee College of Music. My style of teaching is very unique and have been teaching for over 16 years. My students have gone on to win competitions, awards and acceptance into major conservatories. I have 2 albums which have been played as well I have been the featured artist on a number of radio stations across the United States and have performed in large concert halls such as Lincoln Center. I am accepting all ages and levels.

I concentrate on multiple points of focus:

Technique - The idea is to make sure that the student utilizes all of the tools supplied to them properly. To make sure that they are using the correct muscles in their playing as well as phrasing and dynamics.

Music Theory - Key signatures, counterpoint, modes, enharmonics, transposition, reading music which are all used in both classical and jazz among other styles to give the student a greater understanding of how music is constructed. This of course takes time but is well worth it and extremely important.

Ear Training - Developing the students inner hearing and inner pitch along with memorization skills and to be able to channel energy into their playing.

The main thing is to have fun while you are learning. I have experience teaching young children as well starting from preschool and the lessons are designed to walk them through step by step. I used flash cards, music games and other fun tools They always leave with big smiles on their faces.

I offer lessons in your home or in my teaching studio and my rates are reasonable!

Please call me at 347-920-8510 or email me at sfvg757@aol.com

I look forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you!

Regards,
