Millennium (Syosset, NY) a leading developer of Internet and interactive marketing solutions has an immediate opening for a Internet Network System Specialist
Principle duties involve the design, development, configuration, installation, troubleshooting, analysis and technical implementation of network and application infrastructures within a distributed hosting environment. The candidate should have knowledge in Windows and Linux based web architecture, local and global load balancing and DNS management. In addition, excellent written and oral communication skills are vital to the position as participation in client architectural meetings is required.
The successful candidate will provide timely recognition and disposition of complex support problems and issues based on a broad range of technical expertise and professional experience. In addition, the candidate will exhibit the ability to analyze problems in detail and prioritize responses based on the best interests and needs of the business. The successful candidate must have the ability to consistently achieve flawless execution of critical tasks and implement optimized solutions to problems at all levels.
Other Key Responsibilities Include:
. Knowledge of Web Servers (IIS), Web proxy and cache, and with network traffic management, load balancing strategies and tools.
. Understanding of Internet security including router ACL and Firewalls.
. Ability to manage projects and to work independently on multiple concurrent tasks in a highly dynamic environment.
. Drafting of architectural diagrams and documentation as required.
. Application of creative engineering skills to resolve system problems is expected.
. Skills in SQL data replication are desired.
. Understanding end to end infrastructure of a web server farm and multiple environments (firewall rule sets, load balancing, web presentation servers, application servers for development, UAT, Training, Staging and Production environments.)
- 24x7 System supervision for monitoring, logging, backups and related operational/security controls
Experience with the following software, operating systems and products is strongly preferred:
- Web infrastructure build and deployment in Windows and Linux environments
- Experience with Coldfusion Application, Tomcat, and/or PHP middle tier environments
- Firewalls, NetScreen and/or Cisco
- F5 Load Balancers (SA-level network exposure).
- F5 DNS servers.
- VPN administration
- SQL Server Management
