Seeking controller for mid-sized company located in Valley Stream.

Candidate will be responsible for:
oversight of 3-4 person accounting team
accuracy of all general ledger accounts
reviewing monthly bank and other account reconciliations
review of bi-weekly payroll
reporting on cash position for management on a weekly basis
preparing periodic and ad-hoc reports for management
preparing monthly consolidated financial statements
liaising with external auditors
assisting outside accountants with preparation of annual tax returns
refining existing accounting processes to improve accuracy and efficiency

Position reports to part-time CFO. An undergraduate degree in accounting and a minimum of 10 years accounting experience, including some at the controller level, required. Public accounting/audit experience a major plus. Strong computer skills required.
