Selerity is seeking a part-time news analyst to publish information on breaking financial events for institutional trading clients. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented and have availability to work in the evening hours for short period of time (~9pm ET). The role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, communicate effectively, and produce extremely high quality, error free work. The candidate must also have an understanding of the financial markets. Accepted applicants may also be considered for full-time employment, contingent on background, experience, and performance.

The Director of Editorial Services is the primary editorial voice for the business and will be responsible for applying his or her knowledge of life insurance and sales techniques to integrate the brand story into a variety of marketing collateral and other communications vehicles (print, audio/video and digital) for consumer and financial professional use. These materials should be motivational as well as informative.
This individual should be a strategic, creative, and "out of the box" thinker, able to create and direct others to create impactful marketing material. This is a highly collaborative position that works closely with peers in Creative Services (Design, Account Services/Project Management and Branding/Advertising/PR) as well as distribution/product business partners in the Marketing department. This is an in-house ad agency model located in the Marketing department that frequently works with high volume and short deadlines.
The Director of Editorial Services is responsible for setting editorial standards and managing the day-to-day workload for a team of four professional writers. This includes setting assignments, measuring workload, giving feedback/direction on their writing, and supplying available resources needed to complete assignments. The Director will review all materials at various stages of development and be able to constructively critique each writer's work.
This individual should be an inspirational leader, serving as a champion, coach, and mentor to the staff.
7+ years in a copywriting/editing role with content targeted to advisor-led Financial Services. Must supply a portfolio of writing samples.
Experience managing a creative team.
Ideal candidate will have understanding of life insurance products, as well as the major life insurance sales channels-captive agents as well as third party sales including several levels within it (producer, broker-dealer, back office), and prospects/consumers.
Ability to write highly sensitive, sometimes very complex communications, working with the senior executives.
Ability to understand the nuances of and write to different types of media such as video, audio, print and web. Knowledge of newer communications media is essential (social, mobile, etc.).
Excellent collaborator and negotiator, able to work effectively in a high pressure environment.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Candidate may be called upon to present his or her ideas to internal clients and senior management.
Computer software expertise in Microsoft Office Suite as well as familiarity working with a marketing automation system, such as Aprimo.
