The building may look like a big ugly 60's high-rise from the outside, but it's great inside: 24-hr security and maintenance, hardwood floors, dishwasher, central heat and AC, nice laundry room downstairs, quiet neighbors.
Rent is $1100/mo, including ALL utilities (even internet/cable/phone). No fees aside from the security deposit and $50 credit check. Parking and the gym downstairs are available for a bit extra.
It's an ideal place for a young professional or a grad student who needs a quiet space to work in. (15-20 minute trip to NYU). I'm okay with male or female roommates; I've had both. A little about me: I'm 23, female, very low-key, work longish hours (I'm an animator for the Documentary Group at ABC) but am usually home on weekends. I'm a bit of a geek and I cook and bake a lot. I'm reasonably neat, and definitely not a big partier, although I may have a friend or two over occasionally. And I've lived in this place for two and a half years and love it.
The neighborhood is very safe and friendly and everything's convenient -- Duane Reade across the street, ShopRite a couple blocks away, lots of nice little bars and restaurants right around the corner, short walk to the waterfront. And the Statue of Liberty out your window!
