Overall: This is a decent apartment – plenty of space for 2 people to share without being cramped or getting in each other's way and more than enough room to have friends over. I'm an easy-going guy and work for IT industry. We don't have to become best friends, but important that we do get along well. The area is mostly residential. There are tiny groceries stores on every block, but a quick walk to JC downtown and restaurants.
Liberty State Park

Liberty State Park
is one of most extraordinary places in New Jersey. Where else can you find dramatic, close-up views of the New York City skyline, ferries to the Statue of Liberty , Ellis Island and New York City, the Liberty Landing Marina and boat launch, the Liberty Science Center, the historic Central Railroad Terminal of New Jersey , and hiking trails through a diverse community of wetland plants, birds and animals—all in one park?
The Liberty State Park District includes not only the park, but also waterfront homes, the Cochrane Stadium / Caven Point Athletic Complex, and three ferry terminals and bus service to the PATH subway to New York and the Hudson-Bergen light rail system . Port Libert é, on the waterfront at the southernmost tip of the district, is a quiet community of condominiums and town homes with a ferry stop, a restaurant and a luxury day spa .
One of the best ways to see the Manhattan skyline is a stroll along Liberty Walk, a 1.3-mile section of the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway located in the Liberty State Park District. There's nothing like walking along the river with the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and the tall buildings of New York as a backdrop. Whether you're visiting Jersey City for a day or two or have lived here for years, Liberty State Park is an experience not to be missed!
Liberty State Park New Jersey (Jersey City): Liberty State Park is fast emerging as Americas most spectacular urban park! Opened in 1976 for the Nations Bicentennial, its location alone deserves that description. The Park sits proudly and squarely as an oasis... a breathing space...a reclaimed peninsula of land in the midst of a magnificent urban panorama. The Park's views stretch from skyline to skyline, taking in the full grandeur of the New York Harbor, the Gateway to Americas Park's 1,120 acres along the Hudson River Waterfront in New Jersey lies within 2,000 feet of the Statue of Liberty and less than a quarter mile from historic Ellis Island. Liberty State Park is conveniently located off Exit 14B(Jersey City) on the New Jersey Turnpike and is a seven minute direct ride on the NY Waterway Ferry from New York's World Financial Center. While you are here, enjoy the activities Liberty State Park has to offer in its relaxing and scenic setting. Just off the Liberty Walk located at the edge Green Park on the Hudson River are Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. If you look carefully you can still see the passenger ships with the thousands of eager people with different languages and cultures traveling across the Atlantic Ocean to start a better life for themselves and their families. Other than a great view of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and Manhattan Liberty State Park offers visitors and educational experience. At the Liberty Science Center you can feel your way through a pitch-black, 100 foot long touch tunnel and climb across a rock wall or simply touch a live horseshoe crab or how about a ferry ride to Ellis Island and Liberty Island to view a piece of history. Some of the Jersey City hotels offer great views of the Manhattan skyline; all are just a short 15-minute trip on the PATH train to Manhattan.
Bergen/Lafayette
Bergen-Lafayette, Jersey City
Located just west of Liberty State Park, this community of brownstones, row houses and corner stores is experiencing a renaissance. With easy access to the office towers of the Historic Downtown, the Waterfront District and Manhattan via the Hudson-Bergen light rail line , the Bergen/Lafayette neighborhood is being transformed with new condominiums, restaurants and retail businesses. In addition to plans for large-scale residential and commercial developments near the Morris Canal, this district provides a variety of low-cost shopping and dining opportunities along the north-south thoroughfares of Kennedy Boulevard, Bergen Avenue and Martin Luther King Drive. Local families enjoy some of Jersey City's oldest planned green spaces, Arlington Park and Lafayette Park (newly renovated with new lights and playground equipment), as well as the largest public library in the Jersey City system, the Miller Branch.
With the support of the Jersey City Redevelopment Agency, which is responsible for managing real estate projects in the redevelopment zone, a creative public-private partnership between the Morris Canal Development Area Community Development Corporation and a private redevelopment firm is helping to turn brownfields sites into desirable addresses with a view of Liberty State Park and the NYC skyline. Similar projects throughout the district will result in the conversion of historic industrial complexes to market-rate and affordable housing.
