Large art studio available for share, also suitable for use as photography or music studio. 3rd floor of 1890s brick building in Kearny, NJ, total square footage @5000 square feet. Main studio room is 2500 square feet with 20’ pressed tin ceilings, 11 windows with southern and western exposures, and small stage area of about 500 square feet. Entrance hallway, bathroom, laundry/wash room, full kitchen/lounge area @1500 square feet. Studio floor space is available ($500) and two rooms are available as private offices or bedrooms ($500 each, 11 x 13 each), so work, live/work, or live combinations are possible depending on your needs and budget, plus share of utilities. Cable TV in main studio room and kitchen/lounge, and the entire floor is wireless via Apple Airport.
Currently used by two comic book illustrators (one work, one live/work) and a small horde of studio cats. Other drawbacks: no elevator so it's a 3rd floor walkup, and Kearny doesn't have the best public transportation infrastructure. Having a car highly desirable: convenient street parking, 15 min to Holland Tunnel, convenient to all major highways and Newark Airport; otherwise you'd have to take the bus or taxi to Harrison PATH, or Kearny Ave commuter bus into Manhattan.
