The Job:
AvePoint is seeking a Marketing Writer capable of producing high-quality content in a fast-paced, dynamic professional environment. The successful candidate will work as a key member of our Marketing department, will be able to produce highly polished and creative marketing copy, and will possess excellent project management and multi-tasking skills. The candidate must be able to deftly analyze an ever-evolving marketplace, contribute to the marketing team’s efforts to align its initiatives with these trends, and creatively deliver the organization’s message in written form. Because AvePoint’s marketing collateral often targets a technical audience, the Marketing Writer will work closely with our Project Management, Product Development, and Technical Support teams to learn new product functionality and features.
The Marketing Writer is responsible for:
• Researching, organizing, writing, and editing marketing content for both technical and non-technical audiences
• Editing product release notes in preparation for publication
• Drafting various proposals, brochures, meeting documents, white papers, and customer case studies
• Drafting, editing, and proofreading a variety of materials for internal departments
• Compiling and maintaining a best practices guide through interaction with Sales Engineers
• Maintaining AvePoint’s public Knowledge Base by collaborating with the Support Team
The candidate for this position must be capable of initiating his or her own projects, and be willing to take on additional tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
• BA/BS Degree
• 1 to 2 years of experience in related capacity
• Strong background in writing with excellent editing and proofreading skills
• Ability to work independently on multiple projects to meet rigorous deadlines
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Outlook; 2007 experience preferred)
Knowledge in the following area is a plus:
• Microsoft SharePoint
• Graphics editing software
• Adobe Technical Communications Suite (FrameMaker 7 or above, RoboHelp 7, Captivate 3)
• Structured documents using XML
