Job Description:
This position will acquire/develop new general-interest nonfiction book projects/authors in the field of Business and Economics, annually contracting approximately 50 volumes. A creative, energetic professional will manage and advocate for well-established and successful lists, ensuring they make an ongoing and substantial contribution to the success of the print and online publishing programs; follow market trends and opportunities; forge print and electronic strategies; conceive book concepts; contact leading authors; evaluate suitability of proposals for publication; negotiate contracts; maintain good relations with current authors; ensure manuscripts are delivered on time and published according to schedule and budget; and interact with the production and marketing departments to ensure appropriate and successful publication. Editors play a key role in forging Praeger's identity in the marketplace.

Job Requirements:
Outstanding communication and writing, organizational, and project management skills are required; 5 years book-publishing experience is required; familiarity with Business and/or Economics is desirable; experience in database development is a plus.
