All kinds of families can host--two-parent households with young children or teenagers, single-parent families, families with adopted children, foster parents, as well as couples and single people who do not have children or who have grown children. One of the most important characteristics of a host family is being eager and excited to share your life and activities while providing the same kind of care, support, and comfort as you would to your own child or family members.
Local AFS Volunteers enroll students in high school and support students and their families to help both gain the most from their experience. In addition to host families, AFS needs people who are interested in becoming volunteer liaisons to work locally with families and their hosted students. Alejandro is very studious. He is currently studying crude oils engineering at the National University in Medellin City. He attended the most prestigious high school in Colombia. Alejandro says that he is calm, although can be out going when necessary. He loves going to the gym and working out, he enjoys playing some sports with his friends. Alejandro is a hands-on person and enjoys setting tasks that are challenging but can be completed well.
Klaus from Denmark
Klaus enjoys computer role-playing and meets at a live RP club weekly. His other major interest is Magic trading cards. He leads his friends in these activities. "Besides this there are books, books, and more books." Klaus is improving his drawing.
Klaus' keen sense of humor comes out in his application. He is quiet, happy, and intelligent. His mother describes a trusting, caring, and sensitive
young man. Klaus likes to be intellectually challenged.
Klaus wants to travel, to "see other places than little Denmark." He hopes his exchange year provides a "deeper understanding of US culture and politics."
Writers join the fun! Help us write this thing we’re calling the living script. This is not a script about how to live but rather a script that organically grows off multiple writers.
Prerequisites: writers must know how you use Blogger, sign a contract that allows us to use segments of the writing, must join the secret writing prompt forum and be willing to write somewhat regularly for a long period of time. This is not a paid position however anyone who helps out will get writing credits and offered a chance to help out with the film shoot in 2 years from now. Openings are available for about 20 writers or more with different writing styles and cultural back grounds who can write from their characters point of view. Writers will be required stay in character convincingly and realistically at all times on their blogs. Writers who are up for the challenge will be invited to a secret assignment forum that is members only and receive further instruction there. This not a game or a RPG or anything you get points for. You simply write you characters life as a blog and interact with other characters from the story.

A group of student film makers set out to make a class video journal about their year at high school and discover the children of Senite City disappearing
Senite City children are disappearing in the hollows of dank urban underground.
This strange occurrence is overlooked by parents, teachers, and police. No one seems to care except for a group of film students from UASF (Urban Action Student Films). These student film makers unravel a web of corrupt politics, ancient tribal magic and occult mystery all caught on guerrilla style film.
The children should be between 3 years old and 6 years old.
At least one of the parents should be French or be raised in France.
And the children should not have been diagnosed with any language or mental disabilities for the purpose of the research.
Thank you very much for your kind participation. This will help a lot of families, teachers, and people working with children to understand them better.
Also, children will receive a reward for participating in our study and parents can receive the results of the study.

Le Département du langage chez les enfants bilingues du Collège Lehman dans le Bronx, se propose d’effectuer un étude chez les enfants Franco-Américains de 3 á 6 ans.
Pour ce faire, nous recrutons des familles dont:
· au moins l’un des deux parents est Français et parle couramment Français :
· au moins un enfant par famille est âgé de 3 ans (3 ans et un jour) au moment des tests et âgé de 6 ans maximum (6 ans et 2mois). Nous acceptons de tester plusieurs enfants par famille s’ils correspondent á la tranche d’âge.
· Le Français et l’Anglais sont les 2 langues principales utilisées.
· Les enfants n’ont pas été diagnostiqués de trouble du dévelopement ou du language.
Nous demanderions aux parents de remplir un questionnaire concernant les activités des enfants et des parents ainsi que des informations concernant l’usage du Francais et de l’anglais. Ce questionnaire prendra environ 3o minutes. Pendant cette période, je testerai vos enfants sur leur compréhension linguistiques en Français et en anglais. Environ 1h30 heures totales.

At the conclusion of the session you are given a cash gift for your time. The average group usually pays $75.-$150. per 1-2 hour session; however some can go up to $200. or more. You would be told in advance exactly how long the group runs (i.e. 1 hr, 2 hrs...) and how much it pays. Groups run during the day and after work hours. Limit 1 group every 6 months.

Norwalk Community College (NCC) is seeking a hard working individual to serve as a full time AmeriCorps*VISTA for the 2008-2009 academic year. The AmeriCorps*VISTA member will serve as a community service and Service-Learning specialist to act as a mentor, trainer, and representative of Norwalk Community College. This individual will work closely with students, faculty, and community organizations to further develop an established Service-Learning program.
The Community College system offers two-year liberal arts degree programs as well as occupational and technical programs for a population with a wide range of academic and experiential preparation. Service-Learning has been community outreach program since Fall 2007.
Major Accountabilities
1. Support and work with the Coordinator of Service-Learning
2. Assist in strengthening community partnerships
3. Identify community needs that can be filled by NCC students
4. Work with faculty to incorporate service into their course curriculum
5. Assist students in continuous outreach to the community
Qualifications
1. Strong written and oral communication skills
2. Computer literacy
3. Ability to work independently and as a part of a team

Minimum Salary
A housing stipend, a monthly living stipend, health insurance, professional training, federal student loan deferment, gas reimbursement for travel, and a post-service education award of (approx. $5000.00) upon completion. The compensation for our geographical area is $949/month which covers cost of living and transportation. Health insurance is covered by CNCS.
