A new twist on tango is coming to Fairfield County. Tita Osorio is a professional dance instructor with a strong background in classical ballet as well as tango training. She has recently returned from South America where she studied under an award winning Argentinean Tango dancer/instructor, Cesar Meneses.

Ms. Osorio was a member of the “Ballet de Medellin” in Colombia. Few years ago her interests turned to a style of dancing with Latin rhythm and passion called “Tango de Salón”. This free style tango was originally danced in the streets of Argentina. “Tango de Salón” while elegant and graceful is also fun and creative. A student learns not only the basic steps of tango but also how to combine them to create their own unique dance.

Ms. Osorio is giving a 2 day workshop on May 3rd from 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm & 4th from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm at Jennifer Wiesner Dance School located at 1122 East Main Street, Stamford, CT; ph: 203-975-2850; e-mail: aostango@hotmail.com. There is a nominal fee for this course. On May 2nd Ms. Osorio will be having an informal gathering at Jennifer Wiesner Dance School from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm to meet with those who are interested in sharing the passion for Tango. Refreshments will be served.
