We are seeking a Senior Bookkeeper for our growing organization that can help take the sophistication of our financial reporting function to the next level to position us for greater growth. This person will work closely with the CEO and COO in the management of the bookkeeping, financial reporting, and performance measurement needs of the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong bookkeeping and accounting background with the ability to ultimately take on more responsibility and develop new financial skills as we grow and expand beyond NYC. In addition, this position has responsibilities to interact directly with customers (both over the phone, and in person in a retail environment), so quality people skills are also important.
Primary Job Duties:
Journal entries
Accounts payable
Accounts receivable
Manage inventory and purchasing
Measure key performance metrics
Process payroll and time tracking records
Prepare bank reconciliation
Prepare month end closing financial statements
Maintain quarterly tax filings
Requirements:
3 - 5+ years experience as a bookkeeper
Experience measuring key performance metrics
Experience preparing financial statements
QuickBooks expertise
Advanced Microsoft Office skills including PowerPoint
Extremely high level of honesty and integrity
Good written and oral communication skills
Self starter who is detail oriented, highly organized and exercises a high level of discretion
