My husband and I are looking for a nanny/babysitter for our little boy. He just turned three.

We're looking for someone who is a positive person and naturally kind, loving, and warm. Someone who truly loves and understands children. We'd like to find a person who comes from a loving, close family. This person must be legal to live and work in the United States and must speak fluent English. We're looking for someone who has a genuine and easy laugh. Someone who has experience with children - whether in a pre-school setting, as a nanny or raising her own family. She needs to love the outdoors and be drawn to outdoor activities. She needs to be drawn to creative activities as well, like painting, reading and crafts. She needs to be able to initiate play-dates (that are approved by us) and also oversee them and enjoy being with multiple kids. She needs to drive and have her own transportation. We'd love it if the person were musical. The person also needs to love animals and pets. She'll need to help us with meals for our little boy. Ideally, she would help us with laundry and of course keep the kitchen and play areas clean. She needs to respect our parenting style and be an open communicator - sharing with us what happens during her days with our child. We are looking for someone who understands how to help a three-year-old continue to learn important social skills like sharing -- by teaching and guiding in a positive way.

We're looking for someone who can help us around 40 hours per week.

We live in Bedford, NY. My husband and I both work in NYC. I work for myself so my hours can be more flexible.

We want the person we hire to enjoy her work and to be available to work on weekends (with previous notice). There may be opportunities to travel out of town (and potentially abroad) on vacations with our family. We would also like someone who feels comfortable spending a day in NYC and can navigate subways, museums, parks, and taxis.

Strong references are a must.

If you feel you'd be a good fit for our family, please let us know and we'll get back to you.

Many thanks.
