Hey Stacy, four years ago I did your bootcamp for six weeks around this time. The first day, when I realized we had to run, I almost quit. I HATED running. I hadn't run since jr. high. I barely made it around the training center. Coincidentally, a friend of mine who I hadn't seen since I graduated from college was in the group too. But I did the 6 weeks of bootcamp and increased my time tremendously. I could actually finish the training course without having to walk. Then I found out I was pregnant and the doctor told me no running. Three years ago, I had a beautiful baby girl. But as a working mom, I don't have a lot of time to work out. I felt like my gym time was so short that it couldn't really make a difference. So one day last year, when I stepped outside to go to the gym, it was a gorgeous day so I decided to run (I live near Riverside Park). I could barely make it the 1.5 mile loop around my apartment, but I did it. I kept thinking about how that first .5 mile training loop was so hard for me but I kept out it, so I would get this too. And I did! I started runnign 3-4 miles at a time on a regular basis, and sometimes- when I have time, some longer runs. Yesterday, I ran my first race and I am hoping to run a marathon this year. I really owe it all to you. Your bootcamp gave me the confidence to say- Yes, I can run. And running outside with the group showed me I can actually enjoy it too. Thank you.

The cost of the series is $120 if paid in advance or $135 if paid for the first day of class�this includes one free t-shirt. Participants are allowed up to two make-ups that can be redeemed by attending the ongoing Beginners classes. Uniforms pants (abada) are not required for the series. However, if you choose to purchase an abada/corda within the first week of the series, you receive a 10% discount.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS [TRAINING PROGRAM]
There are no pre-requisites for the course, other than a business degree and/or industry experience. Students must possess a working knowledge of MS Excel, and preferably experience in the finance and/or accounting industry. Most of our students are working professionals, although a small number of trainees are students completing their graduate or undergraduate degree. We strongly encourage all of our clients, to register as early as possible for the course, in order to obtain the required reading materials, training manuals, and case-study guides, prior to the first day of class. This way, students will have ample time cover the information; and the accounting, financial, legal and tax concepts covered in class. With early registration, students will also obtain a 15% discount over the standard offer price, and receive unlimited access to the PEFIN Career Newsletter (visit website). Registered students starting the training program are required to bring a laptop computer, financial calculator, as well as a portable drive; in addition to a notebook, pen, pencil and highlighter throughout the length of the course. Students are also encouraged to bring a power cord, or alternatively, an additional battery pack, for extended battery life. For compatibility reasons, students are required to be running on Windows XP or Windows Vista on an IBM or IBM compatible computer (Mac's are not acceptable for the course, due to considerable limitations in the use of spreadsheet and software applications and shortcuts). If the student does not own a laptop computer, he or she will be provided with one for use at our training facility location. We also recommend purchasing a calculator pad and external mouse prior to starting the course, although it is not a requirement. Below, we have provided our own recommendation of accessories for purchase outside of the class:

This is an intro level sketch class, pure and simple, geared towards the student who has never written sketch before, or even a writer who wants a refresher in the basics. Working off the idea that anyone can start writing sketch comedy, you'll learn the formulas that will let you start writing sketch now. You will not need to have pre-existing work to take this class � it will involve practical assignments in individual and team writing. In this class we will examine sketch forms ranging from traditional forms such as game show sketches, talk show sketches, parodies and character sketches; to the offbeat and absurd sketch forms more typical of Python, The State or Kids In The Hall, as well as a short video script. The class will focus on writing, rewriting and group critique. Each week students will be given a new assignment to present to class. Comedic Storytelling

Whether you are writing a film, sitcom, or comedic play, the key to engaging your audience is a gripping story. In this class, you will learn to take your basic idea and turn it into a longform plot in whichever style you choose. We will cover the major elements of storytelling including your hero's journey, psychological aspects of your characters, scenes that are embedded with conflict, genre rules and act construction. By the end of the class, you will have a tight and detailed outline that features all the dynamics of a strong dramatic structure.

Screenwriting Workshop

In this class you will take your first major steps towards writing a feature length screenplay (any film genre you choose). You will start by learning all of the basic concepts of writing a film: three act structure, the elements of narrative storytelling, and character development. The class will focus mainly on the outline, which is an essential and invaluable part of the screenwriting process and will incorporate all of the elements of a finished script. By the end of the course, the goal is for you to have completed a 5-page detailed outline of your screenplay. You can look forward to writing exercises, film clips and readings from classic movies.

Instant Awareness
Instructor: Kurt Braunohler and Laura Sheedy
This two-day workshop will investigate and combine movement with unconscious inspiration for improvisation, allowing for more free and realized play. Students will utilize various techniques, such as image-streaming, to unlock the unconscious and its potential to invigorate scenework. This will be combined with the Viewpoints technique, developed by SITI Company in New York, to open up students to better listen and react, utilize their bodies for inspiration on stage, and keep them more present and playful. These dual techniques result in a refreshing approach that gets students into their bodies AND into their brains � allowing them to be more creative, less inhibited, and more dynamic on stage. By the end of the class, we will have created a brand new form together using these varied methods.

Musical Improv Level 1

You don't have to be a good singer to create great songs-on-the-spot. (In fact, you really don't have to sing at all.) This class breaks down the fundamentals of songwriting and shows you how to use them to easily compose instant hits. Group games and exercises make for a safe, supportive and fun environment that will have you improvising everything from hip-hop to showtunes before you know it. The term will culminate in a class show at The PIT for friends and family. Prior musical training is not required for this course. Level 3: Intro to Longform
Instructor: Nate Starkey
This class is an introduction to the art of creating whole improvised pieces. Building on a solid foundation of relationship-based scenework, students will learn to seek out patterns and connections between characters, scenes and ideas. Longform techniques such as initiating and editing, second beats, pacing, tag-outs, walk-ons and group games (to name a few) will help students create entire pieces with richer scenes. In addition, the class introduces the basic history of longform (including the Harold) and expands students' improv vocabulary, allowing them to examine not only individual scenes but entire shows. There will be two final graduation performances at the PIT for friends, family and others.

Instructor: Scott Eckert
This class will teach students to harness their scene skills and allow them to become second nature. With a focus on improvising emotionally, students will be introduced to several forms which could include Harold, La Ronde, Deconstruction, Mosaic, Imposto, etc. Students will also be introduced to terms and skills that will allow them to examine their longforms as closely as their scenework. There will be two final graduation performances at The PIT for friends, family and others.

*Evaluation of Your solo story or stand-up
*Jodi Collins,CSA/Casting Director, will give each person direction & adjustments for each script and your solo work will be presented for Jodi to identify your �type� and tone with notes given for that as well.

After this workshop:
*It will be easier for Casting Directors to identify you as authentic, definitive characters and personalities. They will better be able to see where to fit you and book you.
*You will begin to develop a skill set to audition with and an understanding of how to present yourself most clearly.

Jodi Collins, CSA is one of the preeminent comedy Casting Directors in New York. Jodi has cast the comedy classics inclusive of The Chris Rock Show, the pilot of Strangers With Candy and Viva Variety and has cast the currently running series Sherri, Delocated Big Gay Sketch Show and ZRock amongst many more. Our New BEGINNER SALSA class starts SUNDAY, DECEMBER 6TH, FROM 5:00-7:00 PM, and is designed for those who are absolute beginners, who have either never danced or danced very little, or those who dance Salsa ON 1. This is THE class to join for new dancers! Singles, couples and teens are all welcome!

All of our Salsa classes are two hours long. The first hour consists of learning "mambo shines" (which is fancy, sexy, open solo footwork), how to develop your own style, and how to execute shines with a unique smoothness all your own. The second hour focuses on partnerwork, consisting of exciting, challenging and dynamic turn patterns, cuban motion, salsa rhythm and timing, styling for men and women, leading and following techniques, spinning, and much more. A partner is not necessary to attend any of our classes, as we have a rotation policy.

There's a reason why our classes are completely full as compared to other dance studios that have very few registered students, classes that are almost empty, expensive tuition and registration fees combined with reduced hours for classes! It's simply this: we give you the best instruction for your money, our instructors are the best in NYC, our progressive salsa curriculum is superb, and our tuition is the cheapest and we give you TWO HOUR CLASSES! AND, we have been around for five years now, our instructors are professional and experienced, and our prices are the same as when we first opened!!

OUR MONTHLY TUITION IS ONLY $45 FOR HIGH SCHOOL AND COLLEGE STUDENTS; ONLY $90 FOR COUPLES (male/female) and ONLY $55 FOR ALL OTHERS! -- CHECK AROUND! OUR PRICES CAN'T BE BEAT! Our studio still has TWO HOUR Classes at these prices!!! Our class begins by breaking down the basic steps, your mambo shines, salsa timing, musicality, rhythms and various tempos of salsa music. Each week new steps and turn patterns are taught and the previous week's steps are reviewed as well. We are renowned for taking basic beginners through the intermediate and advanced levels.

Pre-registration is required in order to hold your spot in the class as the classes fill up quickly.

Every Friday evening at the LORENZ LATIN DANCE STUDIO, we hold our Salsa Dance Social from 9:00-12:00 AM (only $5.00 for our registered students) and $10 for others from the dancing community, where the students (and anyone for that matter!) have a comfortable place to dance salsa and practice what they learned in class. Our dance socials are very well attended, with all ranges of ages and all levels of dancers, from basic beginner to advanced. We pride ourselves on our hospitality as all of our dancers interact and dance with each other, regardless of your level of dancing. Our excellent instructors and dance staff dance, practice and help everyone with their dance moves. Friendly, warm, comfortable and congenial atmosphere. Our Special Intermediate/Advanced Salsa Workshop is held EVERY SECOND SUNDAY OF EACH MONTH.

Our Merengue & Bachata Workshop is held EVERY SECOND SUNDAY OF EACH MONTH.

Our LADIES' SALSA STYLING WORKSHOP is held EVERY THIRD SUNDAY OF EACH MONTH, from 1-2:30 pm for all levels.

Our MEN'S SALSA STYLING WORKSHOP is held EVERY THIRD SUNDAY OF EACH MONTH from 3-4:30 pm for all levels.

On the 4th Sunday of each month, we have our 100% SALSA TURN PATTERNS WORKSHOP for beginners/intermediates/advanced students. Our workshop has been voted NYC's best partner workshop!

We have DAYTIME SALSA CLASSES, morning and early afternoon for those unable to attend evening classes.

We also teach PRIVATE LESSONS at any time during the day and evening - our schedule is very flexible.
