I'm looking for a subletter for one furnished bedroom in my lovely new two-bedroom apartment. My roommate will be traveling all summer, and we'd like to find someone responsible and easy-going to fill her room while she's gone. You'd be living with me -- I'm a girl in my 20s, finishing my MFA in Screenwriting at Columbia.
The apartment is in a newly-constructed building that's located on a quiet residential street just moments away from shopping, McCarren Park and the river, a ten minute walk to the Bedford L stations and a five minute walk to the Greenpoint or Nassau G stations. The building is very safe and secure, and we have a laundry room in the basement. The apartment is fully furnished and very spacious. We have cable TV and wireless internet. The available bedroom has a full-size bed, a desk, and a closet for clothes storage.
Ideally, you should be someone who works or goes to school full-time, and is financially reliable and responsible in general -- tidy, quiet, etc. The rent is $1200 per month, plus utilities. You'll also have to give us a security deposit, probably $500, although that's negotiable. Oh, and no smoking or pets in the apartment.
