The big room upstairs is for rent. It has an air conditioner slip, a double door closet and a high window (its way bigger than it looks in the pictures). There's lots of room in the living room downstairs to set up a computer desk or work station and there�s plenty of space for more furniture (again, it looks a bit different now than it does in the pictures). The neighborhood has plenty of parking if you have a car.

The kitchen is super nice with brand new appliances including a dishwasher and there is coin-operated laundry in the building.

The apt is half a block from the smith & 9th st. F/G station and there's a kick-ass bagel store right on the corner. It's an easy walk to Carroll Gardens nightlife on both Court and Smith streets.

US: Existing roommates are super chill, happy and get along great. We are a couple but we aren�t annoying, promise. I am a native New Yorker who works full-time at an environmental non-profit in Manhattan. My boyfriend is from Charleston, South Carolina and also works full time as a Flash animator.

For the time being, my friend is subletting my room (the other upstairs room). He just moved to NYC from Philadelphia and is a photographer working in an office in Manhattan that makes guides for the National Parks. I've lived in this apt for going on 4 years and the only reason leaving is because i'm moving in with my girl.

Here are some details, but feel free to contact me if i missed anything you would like to know:

Room - Available for either 11/15 or 12/1 in large 3 bedroom apartment. The room is roughly 11x12 with plenty of room for a queen bed, desk, and dresser and whatever else. Large windows let in a ton of light. As for furnishings, I am moving out and willing to part with most of my furniture for recession special prices if who ever moves in is interested. If not, i'll get it out of the way.

Apartment - The apt is a 3rd floor (top floor) floor-through of a 3 story building. Large kitchen and huge dining room/living room area. Three huge windows in the living room with lots of sunlight. Plenty of closet space in both room and apt. The apartment is fully furnished. No pets unfortunately

Money - The rent is $800 a month. Gas and electric are not included - they fluctuate depending on the season but they average no more than $50 per person at the max. However, DirectTv AND internet both included by landlord which is lovely.

Location - Apartment is located at the corner of Bergen and Underhill in Prospect Heights and pretty much in the middle of every train line. 5 minute walk to the 2, 3 Bergen stop at Flatbush, 5 minutes to the C train Clinton/Washington stop at Lafayette. 7 minute walk to the B & Q 7th ave stop at Flatbush, and 10 minute walk to Atlantic terminal
One block from the stores, shops, and bars on Vanderbilt and one block in the other direction the the same on Washington. 10 minute walk to Park Slope or Fort Greene. 10 minute walk to Brooklyn Museum and Botanic Gardens

Roommates - Two males, late 20s and early 30s. One is a 9-5er and the other is a bartender working most nights of the week. Good vibe in the apartment... we'll all chill on the couch drinking a beer occasionally, but we are all independent people that do our own things as well. We're all respectful and that's what we're looking for as well.

The Opera House is a Community of Artists and Filmmakers and Musicians who live in a converted Opera house. Large Courtyard, Back Garden with a deck, Wooden Roof deck, and Basement Lounge. Of course, Laundry Room, small gym, and mat room (used to be yoga m/martial arts studio but now is a multi-purpose room). The BASEMENT LOUNGE has a dvd/cable screening room, pool, ping-pong, air hockey, small gym, multi-purpose room, and rehearsal spaces (for bands, photographers, dj�s, filmmakers, casting calls, etc.), public gathering space, and they are developing a back room for more goodies.

The Apartment is a spacious 2br with a common area that includes a small foyer, kitchen, piano, small library (records-books). Your room would be the larger of the two. I live with a cat (Koshka) and work in film. I keep odd hours due to the film world, but am usually not home. Either working or training. The apartment is sound proofed so I can record voiceovers, so it is quiet other than the occasion neighbor hood sounds.

The Room is a 21�x10� room, with heat, a floor to ceiling window on a brick wall. Hardwood floors, sound proofed walls (I am a sound designer so I sound proofed the apt), and plenty of outlets. (220 and 110)

Before reading about this otherwise outstanding, best-of-all-worlds, central-to-all, full-floor apartment situation, please read no further without acknowledging the following caveat and do so in your reply as well: ROOM, DESPITE BEING WONDERFUL, AFFORDABLE, 30-Minutes to Midtown and old-wood-floored, has NO WINDOWS!!! Room is an INTERNAL BUILD-OUT, (apparently a short-sighted one) centrally in the apt. layout, and thus does not have even ONE SINGLE WINDOW.

That said, plenty of wonderful natural light streams into the apartment from other windows in front and rear of full-floor arrangment.

If you�re ok with that (I personally spent nearly 2 years in the room, worthwhile for the sake of living 30 minutes from midtown Manhattan for dirt-cheap!) please read further!

When thoroughly sold, reply with some personal info, contact number, being sure to mention your source of rent funds (students/interns ok if you�re bankrolled!) and your having acknowledged being ok with a de-fenestrated room!
(Without some acknowledgement akin to "yes, i'm hearty enough to handle living on a long-term basis in a room with no window because its worth it for the cheapest room anywhere that is both safe and within 30 minutes of the city (i.e. Newark is cheaper/equally close, but very high-risk, in the personal safety department)", you will not receive a reply!

Tenant history of windowless room, FYI =accounting student: resided just shy of one year
Prior to accounting student=myself, two years, just about, including two summers, which were fine (and cheap!)
Elevated bed, shelving etc. allows for full-furnishings: dresser, desk, and queen-sized bed, I had them all!

Only other major consideration besides no window (believe me, i'm not out to mutually waste time, by "selling" people, just providing straight-up scoop) is that this apartment is UNRENOVATED. This does NOT mean there will be even one single roach or mouse anywhere, ever, or dirt, or leaky ceilings, or drafty windows, or anything of the like, it JUST MEANS no fancy gleaming appliances/kitchenware/counterspace/tile flooring, etc. etc. and that everything has 59 coats of paint, and the floors, while newly varnished, are 100 years old. That's all. Neighborhood is ripe with new renovations, but this is not one of them, just a head's up.

-ONE BLOCK to G-train at Bedford/Nostrand stop--recently expanded, direct line to Park Slope!!!
-24/7 police above and below ground, plus regular patrol cars--gotta protect all the new luxury construction and its soon-to-be-tenants across the street!
-30 minutes to Midtown and even the Upper East Side on a good day; even less to Union Square and below (I used to get to Wall Street in 20 MINUTES!!!!)
-One cat who is, unfortunately, violently insane and predatorial, but we do our best to deal, and she is, for the time being, confined to my room for those reasons. However, confinement to my room is very bad for her wellbeing, so big preference to anyone willing to put up with a violent, predatory (but very tiny) feline.
-All utilities are INCLUDED!! Internet, gas, electric, heat, hot water
-Room�s for ONE person: NO COUPLES NO COUPLES NO COUPLES or even quasi-couples who might-as-well-be live-in. (unless you�ll pay double!)
-Literally on the exact border of Clinton hill, a nice area, and bed-stuy, thus your rent is cheap while being a stone�s throw to park slope, ft. Greene, Williamsburg, Brooklyn heights, and downtown Brooklyn transportation hub, none of which are more than 15 minutes distance! You can reach Midtown West and Upper east Side well within 30 min. worst-case 40 min.
-Pratt is an 8-10 minutes walk.
-Amazing burrito,brunch, bakery and Thai places in walking distance
-Amazing gourmet supermarket, hardware store, laundry, Home Depot, Chase bank, coffee shop/caf�, within a block!
-Both genders and vast age-ranges have coexisted in this apartment peacefully and happily at various intervals, one of which nearly sparked a romance! Yippee! Equal parts crash-pad/homey-place/hostel/cool Bklyn apt you can call your own.
-I am late twenties male, day-jobber with art background, modeling contract, and a semi-decent LSAT score that is valid for another two years.
-Other mate's a recent-grad publishing intern female from California, philosphical, and very laid back....the last of which, you must be as well!
-First/last months to move in ($1100), basically pre-paying your last month in the apartment whenever 30-days notice is provided for departure, be it in a year, or six months, or forever.
-Shared quarters and close proximities call for QUIET, mellow, respectful people ONLY!!! Even if you�re home at 4am every night, no one will care, but seriously, there are techniques by which doors can open/close without the slightest sound whatsoever, and by which music/tv can be enjoyed without impacting others� auditory space, thus please excercise them!
-One bathroom (hasn't been a problem yet!)
-Looking to make this a sweet deal ($550 for everything!!!!!) in order to find a LONG-TERM FIT�.finding roommates SUCKS!!!
-I am a 9-5er, thus with extremely high preferences for PM jobbers: waiters, cooks, whatever.

Two HUGE Rooms Available in Brooklyn Heights (Brooklyn Heights/Cobble Hill)

Two HUGE rooms available in a converted 3 bedroom apartment.
We have two large bedrooms for rent that will be available starting Dec 1. The rent for the first room is $790 and we have the second available for $875 The first room is the largest of the three in the apartment and has 2 large windows and an AMAZING amount of space. It currently fits a full size bed, two dressers, a desk, coffee table, and a full size futon, with ample room to spare. (Can come furnished!!!!) This large room had originally been the living room, but we converted it into a bedroom. All of the rooms are along a long hallway, so the bedrooms don't open up into the living room. We created a nice drape/covering that covers that would be the "door" and it's worked really well for the best 2+ years.

The second room we have available is the largest of the two "original" bedrooms in the apartment. It currently fits a full size bed and large dresser and had plenty of room to set up a separate sitting area if you want. The best part apart the room though is the closet space. I'm estimating, but it's probably about 5ft wide and 3 ft deep and it has an extra set of shelves that go up to the ceiling. You won't find anything better than it in the city.

The apartment is located on the fourth floor of a beautiful Pre-War building (with elevator!) in the heart of Brooklyn Heights, and all of the trains going into Manhattan have a stop about 3 minutes down from the apartment. The building is upscale and charming (very old renovated building) with a beautiful courtyard. There is a doorman present until 11p.m.

While most sections of Flatbush were working class before the demographic shift, there were a few affluent areas. Prospect Park South had a sizable number of more affluent homeowners, and more than a few doctors resided on a stretch of Parkside Avenue immediately adjacent to Prospect Park. The room is rather large. I have the biggest walk in closet in the entire apartment. There are hardwood floors, a large living room, with huge windows, immense workspace with tables, and even a hammock/day bed. We have a well-stocked kitchen, gas stove and cast iron cookware, if you like to cook.

A bit about the roommates. One is a lesbian graphic designer and web designer, mid 20s. She freelances as well as works a 9-5 in an office making iPhone apps. She is in a committed relationship (no drama!) and is extraordinarily neat and organized. The other is a gay man also in his mid-20s. He's a graduate student of Computer Science at NYU. He studies all the time in his room, is quiet, and respectful. Neither of them drink, smoke, or do drugs. They rarely have people over but don't mind if you do. Both of them are wonderfully nerdy, friendly, and overall great, responsible roommates.

Our utilities (gas, wireless, electricity) range from $50-$60 and split between 3 people, it's not bad at all.

IMPORTANT: To hold the apartment, I need security ($749) and last month ($715.55) for a total of $1464.55. You will get this back when you move out.
When you move in, you will need to pay the first month ($749).

Brand new laundromat is 1 block away.
Landlord lives downstairs, and other people who live here are working professionals. We have an alarm system so our apartment is safe.

I'm offering a great big room in my apt in Fort Greene.. it's in the back of the apt and nice and quiet, overlooking the backyard. I lived in that room for a year until a few weeks ago, and it served me quite well! It's a spacious 11x13', plenty of room for a queen bed, desk, shelving, etc. There is no closet in the room, but at least 1 closet in the living room, plus extra storage space. There are technically 3 BRs, but 1 room is a 'pied a terre' with a very very non-existant awesome guy.. you might see him once a month. I'm a 31 year old woman, born and raised in the area and absolutely loves Brooklyn and this neighborhood. I work nearby, and enjoy all that Fort Greene and the surrounding 'hoods have to offer. I'm fairly quiet at home, but often cook dinner a little later.. I work slightly later hours than most, which is great for a roommie situation - no bathroom fights!

The apt is just past Myrtle, which means access to many buses, including the B61 that goes to Ikea and Williamsburg, and the B69 that goes to Park Slope. By bus, EVERY subway is 5-10 minutes away, or a 20 minute walk. It's a little bit of a hike but absolutely gorgeous to walk through Fort Greene Park and the brownstones, past the Farmers Market, Brooklyn Flea, etc. Lots of great restaurants and bars, laundromats nearby.

Will consider small pets and couples, but right now I'm pet free and single. Please be over 25, mature, able to pay the rent on time, and willing to commit for at least 6 months. Be drama free, generally happy, and be looking for a HOME, not just a bording room.

SITUATION: I just moved into the apartment two months ago with a friend. Unfortunately, due to a family emergency, she has to move back home. Since we just moved in, the apartment is unfurnished other than our bedrooms, so you can help shape the space.

APARTMENT: The best/most important feature of this apartment is its location. The apartment is at 34th St. and 4th Ave. in Sunset Park. The D and N express trains, along with the local R and occasional M train are mere steps away at 36th St. Only two express stops or 20 minutes from the city!

The apartment is two bedrooms with a living room, spacious kitchen, and bathroom. It is a First Floor railroad apartment with a separate entrance to the bedroom closest to the street. The bedroom I am looking to rent out is the one in the middle. So if you needed to do anything in the rest of the apartment late at night you wouldn�t have to walk through my room. The room is fairly small and has no windows, but has two closets.

Everything that you could ever ask for is pretty much at the doorstep of the apartment. This would include a laundry mat across the street, lots of delis in any direction, a gas station for all of your junk food and cheap beer needs, lots of restaurants (Mexican, Diners, Fast Food, etc.), and Melody Lanes bowling alley. (Also a short bus ride or 3 local subway stops to Gingers!)

ME: I am a manager at Babeland, 25 years old, a lesbian, and a feminist. I pretty much only sleep in the apartment, but look forward to occasionally hanging out/cooking/hosting game nights once the apartment is furnished. I have a pretty extensive DVD collection and am always willing to share. I spend about half my time staying at my girlfriend�s apartment, and she is usually staying at mine the other half.
